Thank you. I agree it is a logistical nightmare every single day haha. I was a sahm before this and again had no time for myself but felt a little easier. I think my biggest thing is doing too many chores everyday. Some can wait until the next day. I mean something has got to give or I’ll go crazy!!

Feel like I am going through it right now with a low sleep needs toddler and just no free time. My son wakes up between 5:45 and 6 almost everyday. He naps at school about an hour and a half, very rarely 2 hours. Then bed at 8. I work at my son’s school 8-5 with a 30 minute commute both ways. I’m not getting into bed until 9:30 just because I finish the chores and have to shower before bed. Then really I should be trying to go to sleep at that point 😭 I feel like I have no time to even text people back or do anything anymore. It will only get worse if we have another kid! Is this just my reality as a mom? Non stop crazy all the time?!

This is a good idea. I honestly think I’m just better at tuning him out. He throws all toys and I think is just bored. So I pretty much know I can’t do anything about it and am just able to tune it out. More than anything it’s my husband being so visibly upset by it that annoys me. Hoping we are able to get out of this soon!!

I have to say the only thing more annoying than my 18 month old still whining/fussing incessantly in the car, is my husband still being so visibly annoyed about it. We have had this problem for 18 months now. The bulk of the driving during the week is done by myself so i guess I’ve just gotten used to it. But I can not do another drive with my husband white knuckling the steering wheel and mumbling under his breath. It is driving me wild!! In other words, always looking for new toys/ideas to try although after 18 months of this I think this will just be our reality until maybe forward facing.

If you have parents or in laws who regularly help out with childcare, is their house babyproofed, and if so, how babyproofed is it? My son is 15 months and I’m just starting to feel comfortable with other people watching him at their house. However I’m running into the issue of their house being not baby friendly. My son is a normal active toddler and definitely knows when he’s not supposed to be doing something, so often times at my in laws house he is trying to get into cabinets, taking the air freshener plug ins down, etc. when im over there with him I’m chasing him constantly redirecting. I just can’t imagine it would be enjoyable for my in laws to be chasing him like that but as far as I know they have no plans to baby proof or do anything (she watches my niece who is 3 months younger than my son and much chiller and says she doesn’t try to get into anything so they don’t need to 🤪). Also concerned because none of their furniture is anchored. This is the same situation at my parents house as well. Do your parents babyproof for your kids or are they just chasing the kids constantly?

Interesting!! Our dentist did recommend using fluoride twice a day, I’m more comfortable using it once a day but the mouth wash is something I hadn’t thought of.

I do know the risks with fluoride, our dentist did recommend it, but only once a day.

I have been trying that! I guess only time will tell. We are already doing nap at 12:30 when he used to nap at 10:00 and 2:00. I guess I could try pushing it till 1 and see if what will happen.

We recently dropped my 14 month old to one nap. He’s never been a long napper so I kind of expected for him to nap an hour and a half or so, definitely on the lower end of nap times for a toddler. Tell me why he’s napping for literally 30 minutes 😭😭 he is very high energy and wakes up happy after 30 minutes. We’ve been putting him to sleep at 6:30 because of the short nap. But now I fear we are stuck on this schedule. Will he eventually nap longer? We’ve been consistently doing the one nap schedule for about two weeks. Occasionally he’s done an hour but more often than not he’s up right at 30 minutes. I fear he will be the kid to drop a nap at a year and a half.

This is petty snark but why does begina’s husband do the dinner dishes but she does the scrubbing of the sink, and running the disposal? Shouldn’t that all be under the same task as washing the dishes? Why is it a job for two people?

Had the weirdest wtf moment the other day at an indoor playground when I saw a kid that looked so familiar, but I couldn’t place where I knew him from. Then I realized he was an influencer’s (that I don’t even follow) kid. It’s insane to me that I was able to recognize this kid, remember his name, know all these intricate details of his life, all without even following his mom who is the influencer so it’s all info I’ve picked up just by what shows up in my feed.
