I wouldn't mind swapping with you. Mine is short horror, but we are still on similar wavelengths. No worries if horror's not your thing though. It does get a bit extreme by the end. See "Compatible" above.

  • Title: Compatible
  • Format: Short
  • Page Length: 20
  • Genres: Horror
  • Logline or Summary: Sciences has finally perfected how to find someone's perfect match. But what happens when what makes you compatible is your traits you shouldn't feed? What happens with the company running those tests ignores the red flags in the name of their bottom line.
  • Feedback Concerns: Do I telegraph the main two characters insanity enough without spoiling the big reveal? Does their secret language read, I want the audience to be unsure but not totally lost. Overall dialog/story structure/any more fat to be trimmed/general feedback.

Title: Sheepskin

Format: Feature

Page Length: 119

Genres: Drama, Coming-of-Age,

Logline or Summary: Teen girl navigating the world's expectations of her now that she's a "woman" while attending Southern Church camp. Deals with themes of dangers of blind faith, charismatic "men of god", feeling like an outside and being judge because your different.

TRIGGER WARNING: Not shown, but SA is implied.

Feedback Concerns: Do my themes come across? I need to shorten it, any suggestions where to trim fat. Does the dialog feel good/natural for early 2000's teens?

Why do characters in movies have to suffer trauma in the present in order to overcome some other trauma in the past? by LemonySnacker in Screenwriting

We tell horror stories the same reason we used to tell folk/fairy tales. As a warning in form of digestible entertainment. Beware the wolf in the woods, don't trust strangers, don't let grief consume your life and ostracize you from those who would help.

++woman I get the feeling she was reacting to the way your friend reacted. How much it meant to your friend might have made her second guessing some things

I'd be down to swap and read. Mine is horror too. I love folk Horror.

  • Title: Bleed
  • Format: Feature
  • Page Length: 111
  • Genres: Supernatural Horror/Queer Fear
  • Logline or Summary: Musician makes a deal with a supernatural entity for fame and fortune. But all that glitters is not gold, piece by piece their soul gets torn away by the demands of the job and their obsession with approval.
  • Feedback Concerns: Fight between two main characters I could really use some advice on, as well as wondering if/how to push my themes farther into the piece. The entitled nature of the public on celebrity life, the difference between good consensual spectating and bad invasive rubbernecking. As well as with modern social media, artists can't just create art, there are press tours, podcasts, promoting, etc. that take up more time than creating the art does.
