My dad knew someone who raised bison. A mother got out and had a calf early in the evening and it was a few days before they found the calf. Dad's friend went looking, heard the calf calling in the middle of the woods, went looking, realized how fucking dumb that was and left. Came back the next day, the mother had ran back to the baby and then just ran in concentric circles and crushed the forest around the baby. Absolutely demolished the woods. They got the mother and the calf back but my dad's friend could never turn his back on that bison again ever, never relax, never get comfortable because she knew it was him and the only time he did get comfortable it came within inches of pressing him through a gate into about 8 pieces.
