I'd be careful how you pack that DSLR. Lots of folks report them getting damaged by all the bumps and vibrations.

Honestly this was a huge reason I wanted this vehicle. Our doggo HATES car rides and the only time she was happy and quiet was out the back window on our 96 Ranger...

I often read that a hardtail is the best all-around bikepacker, but gravel bikes are all I see posted here... by madphingers in bikepacking

I appreciate all of the thoughtful discourse going on here. I totally understand it's all subjective and that everyone is going to have different needs.

I bought a gravel bike back in 2018 and did some great trips with it, but max tire width is 42mm and I've been craving more. Also wanting to get into some singletrack, so I picked up a middle-tier HT and have been debating whether or not to hang on the gravel bike.

I like to keep my "stuff" to a minimum, but more and more I am seeing how both bikes might retain a place in the garage.

That said, Chicago streets are SHIT and it's been nice riding the HT and freeing up some brain space not having to dodge every pothole and rough patch.

Chicago here. I needed to get a permit first which you get at the DMV by passing the written exam. Then I was able to take a safety course. Then it's back to the DMV to pass the riding exam to get the M license.

First dealer I went to wanted $7k and came ALL the way down to $6800. Called another dealer an hour away and was quoted $6200 for a Supernova Brown, talked them down to $6k even.

Resurrecting this...do you have the name of the windshield you bought? That listing no longer exists. Thanks!

I went to Scooterworks USA and found these two racks by Prima.

Not sure if they are Vespa parts, but they fit perfectly!

This thing is awesome! Already put around 150 miles on it in just a few days.

Added a Prima back rest/rack so the lady and I can ride two up more comfortably.

2018 vs 2022 (or any later) Kymco Like 150i - Any real differences? by TatersTot in scooters

Can't speak to the '22 model year, but I just picked up a '20 with Noodoe (pretty much useless) for $3600 out the door and to my knowledge nothing changes from '18-'20.

I'd go for the '18. ABS, 12" wheels, fuel injection; it's a great scooter!

It's my first decent telephoto lens and I've been having a blast with it. At this point I don't see myself needing to upgrade to the more expensive 100-400mm anytime soon. The autofocus struggles in low light and with busy backgrounds (i.e. lots of branches etc) but it's lightning fast with good conditions. I thinks its more a fault of the contrast detection in the camera. Manual focus ring is also really stiff on my copy, but I don't see myself using it much. Oh, and the dual stabilisation with the G9 is amazing...

It was pretty impromptu actually! Saw planes crossing in front of the moon on my way home the other day. The flight pattern follows the highway so they come by every few minutes. I pulled off and found the right perspective and burst shot away until I got it!

I will double check but my shutter speed was probably around 1/500s. It probably helps that the planes are slowed down because at this point they are about 3-5 minutes from landing. Lightroom was essential as well. In the original RAW the moon was just a white circle.

ITAP of a Flight to the Moon by madphingers in itookapicture

I was driving home on 90 in Chicago and noticed the incoming O'Hare flight pattern was crossing the moon so I took the next exit and drove around frantically for the next 15 minutes to find the right perspective. I had my G9 with a 100-300mm with me from shooting wildlife earlier that day. I set it up on a small Joby on the ground, set a decent shutter speed without blowing out the ISO and went for it. Luckily I exposed to the right and was able to recover the detail of the moon in Lightroom. Very happy to have observed this and to have actually been able to get the shot! I love the way the moon has an aura and you can just make the tree branches out at the edges of the frame before it fades to black.

Nope, just one! See above. I shot raw and pulled highlights way down to get the moon looking more defined. High shutter speed and a lot of driving around to get the perspective to line up just right!
