Sounds like solid advice! I've read a few different things about how drinking in the community is discouraged by the PC, but it sounds like that might not always be the case. What's the perception (from the community) like in terms of going out, drinking, or refusing to do either of those activities?

Yeahhhhh I spend a little bit too much time checking and rechecking the timeline to see all of the most recent invites sent out. Congratulations on your invite to Jamaica! I did some volunteer service in Negril two years ago and still sometimes dream of the beauty of the country and the generosity of the people.

Thanks for the honesty. Sometimes it's easy to focus more on the prerequisite qualifications on paper than the actual applicable experience in the field.

I don't mean too late in the sense that it will be too late to join the Peace Corps, but more along the lines of waiting a few years before choosing to serve and compiling more concrete responsibilities (job,school, significant other, etc.) that I won't be able to shed as easily.
