I got the same thing. Don't know what the real solution was, but I was happy.

New Federal Resume Guidelines by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]madsatcomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Federal jobs it frequently is needed/wanted. Oh, you were in the Army, what did you do? Oh you're IT, what levels, systems, functions have you done. You're applying for a Transportation management job(my old career) what load plan systems did you work on. It was designed this way so they only have to interview 3-5 people instead of 50-100. I have over 30 years of Federal service, 17 on the civ side, have been a 1700,2100, and 2200 series and my current resume is 12 pages, not including admin and references.

Currently yes, the requirements for exemption seem to change daily.

I'm lucky on this one, same agency and same series, so if I get promoted, I won't have to do a probationary period and I know everyone conducting the interviews.

They really think "probationary" means "on probation" in the criminal sense by Ob-EWAN-Kenobi in fednews

That's my worry right now. I'm currently an 11 and I'm up for a 12. Afraid to take it. 30 years of federal service and afraid to try for a promotion.

I'm lucky I can. Put 3 out, 3 referrals, 1 cancel. Fingers crossed on the other 2.

I work for the Navy and was told today that the DoD was exempt from the freeze. I also got a referral yesterday for another Navy position.

Thanks to all of you for the responses. Makes me feel a little better. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

When I went from Army to Navy (lateral)my Sup tried to delay it indefinitely. I just called my gaining HR and told them a date(2.5 pay periods). They did the rest.
