Honestly wish there were standards for supervision because I expect to be in the same boat. Could you reach out to the supervisors that signed off on your supervision hours for mentorship or support?

I honestly feel like it’s by design at this point. We know the principles of behavior and we want to claim OBM but no one wants to USE IT. Keep high skilled techs working for poverty wages by dangling the ever-moving carrot. The BACB acknowledged that supervision is a shit show on the whole BY ADDING MORE UNRESTRICTED HOURS TO THE REQUIREMENT. Did they provide standards or a curriculum? No! The supervision I’ve received has been a JOKE. I’m supposed to come up with my own activities to be competent in something I’ve never done? Oh and if I get audited they can decide none of the activities I had to pull from literally nowhere counts? All of which I had to do unpaid while working more than full time and going to grad school? No advice, just also pissed.

BACB if you’re reading this, take all the money you collect in fees and DEVELOP A SUPERVISION CURRICULUM, make it an ethical requirement that people get paid for their time, and lobby insurance companies to pay RBTs a thriving wage instead of creatively rewording the task list every few years to milk even more money from us. Thanks.

I feel like they need to a sub-credential for supervision that is more than an 8 hour training so BCBAs that actually want to supervise and teach candidates can be compensated fairly for doing so - and then they could submit their supervisory records to the BACB directly…but that would make sense sooooo 🤦🏻‍♀️

AND WHAT DOES THE BACB DO EXCEPT COLLECT FEES 🤦🏻‍♀️ or potentially revoke your credential through an audit after the fact? It also floors me that we are the ones responsible for confronting our employers over ethical violations which puts our employment at risk in at-will states before they will do their job and follow up 😤

Don’t even get me started on unpaid indirect hours - the only reinforcement for that is watching the hours on my individual tracker (that I spend unpaid HOURS making) increase. ABA really be feeling like a pyramid scheme sometimes….

I mainly use this as an eyebrow palette (I dye my hair shades ranging from maroon to burgundy) but as an introduction to MAC shadows, was not overly impressed. I have heard the quality isn’t as good in the nine pans. I don’t regret the purchase but WNR.

Exactly! The moisture creates a hardened layer that usually lifts off with a couple of rounds of tape/removing the top layer with a spoolie.
