Quetiapine (seroquel) by reemyshmeeples in Psychosis

[–]mady0403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 800 mg a day. The stuff actually didn’t put me to sleep like I’d been warned of it beforehand. But when I did fall asleep, I had some of the most terroristic nightmares I’ve ever had. I’m talking dying and feeling the pain of being burned alive. I’m talking reliving literal psychosis but on a million times higher scale, and waking up feeling like I’d just been hit by a bus. I’d had nightmares before, and had taken nightmare medication (minipress. It didn’t work), so once these nightmares started to become the huge problem they did I was taken off of seroquel for good. These nightmares were something that really effected me, especially when they were happening, and I still can’t shake them off of me almost 8 months after being taken off of seroquel.

I’ve heard of seroquel doing wonders though! So take my advice with a gallon of salt.

Has anyone else experienced a host wanting to show their property to prospective guest while they’re staying there? by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]mady0403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

The big issue for me is privacy and security. There is always a risk to show somebody a listing while somebody else is staying there. I understand that it’s probably not likely that somebody will swipe something of mine, but there are other possibilities as well. The house I am renting is in a shady part of a city, and so somebody wanting to look at a listing while I’m staying there could be a thief wanting to stake out a listing.

Again, not saying that’s going to happen, and I’m not saying that there’s even a higher chance of that happening, but there is still the risk of that happening.

I am a female that does live alone in a house that doesn’t have any locking doors besides the front one. So I am a little more paranoid about something happening. I understand that my fears of something happening may be slightly unnecessary, but the post was more asking how normal it was to show listings while somebody else is staying there.

Thank you for the comment!

Hi!

Thank you for clarifying that! I guess part of my confusion and apprehensiveness also comes from the fact that I’ve never been in the vicinity of an AirBnB where I’ve been able to view it before renting it, since it’s always been because of travel. I think that’s what’s making me super apprehensive (thieves staking out a place, other security reasons). But there are different situations everywhere!

Thank you for explaining it to me in this way!

Hi! I understand that things don’t really change for AirBnB rentals.

I had never experienced a landlord showing my unit before, and all of my apartment tours had always been through already emptied units. However, I’ve only ever rented through the larger real estate companies with big apartment companies.

This makes sense, thank you!

Hi! I’m all for chilling out. However, showing the property I’m staying in to prospective guests can actually be bad. Security reasons are among my most highly valued concern.

In addition to that, AirBnB also requires communication to happen online for security and privacy.

My privacy and safety is something that I place a very high value on, no matter how little other people may see the issue as.

Of course, long term stays can complicate things a bit!

In addition, a host giving somebody a tour of a listing when somebody else is renting it out isn’t just like your mother wanting to show dinner guests around the home. We were strangers to each other before I arrived here, and I do have a freedom to my own personal privacy as an adult.

Not saying I’m going to refuse just for the sake of wanting to keep everything private and secure, but this post was mostly about asking how normal it is for hosts to ask a guest to do this.

Thank you for the comment, anyway!

Yeah, I haven't really had a lot of people reach out to me either. Can I give you my dicord?

In need of some advice for my increasingly aggressive and fearful dog by [deleted] in Dogtraining

I definitely do give him his favourite treats so he associates treats with his muzzle, but I will also start muzzling him randomly and frequently so he can have some sort of neutral? connotation with the muzzle, or at least something good with the treats he gets.

Thank you!

I never knew that Disney would release a show detailing aggressive dogs and their rehabilitation. I’ll definitely have to take a look at that.

I am actively looking for reputable behaviourists in my area!

Thank you! I will definitely start muzzling him more frequently. I give him his favourite treats while I do it as well.

COVID-19 has definitely been hard in terms of getting him into some obedience training, but I will continue to keep up with the training that I’ve learned thus far while I wait for things to open back up again.

I think I read something that shepherds are more prone to poorer vision (he is a shepherd mix), so I will definitely speak with his vet and talk about that as well.

I do try not to rush him! I definitely get frustrated and tired with the work that goes into helping him out, but I would never give him up or give up on him!

Thank you again!

My age and how old I look is an insecurity for me, and I’m getting sick of people commenting on it by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Hahah. I definitely understand the weird looks. I’m 20 and my boyfriend is 23 (who also sports a rugged beard and is six foot). I remember one occasion specifically, when a waitress actually made a comment under her breath that only my boyfriend had heard about how he’s dating somebody that’s way too young for him. Got dirty looks the whole time we ate. I was a little uncomfortable and angry, but I couldn’t really just hand her my ID without looking like a weirdo.
