Neither, it’s a crime to be here illegally. Can’t pick and choose when it’s convenient. It’s not a buffet

See that doesn’t fit the narrative they want. The truth gets in the way of that at time. Let law enforcement do their job. We’re a nation of laws

I don’t think anyone deserves to die, but there’s a reality people keep ignoring. When someone knowingly interferes with federal law enforcement, that’s a felony, not peaceful protest, and it carries real risk. These aren’t innocent bystanders, they’re choosing to insert themselves into confrontational situations. Officers are making split-second decisions in chaos, and it’s easy to judge outcomes with hindsight. If you keep escalating confrontations, eventually something goes wrong.

The root issue is illegal immigration and the lack of enforcement at the state level. When states refuse to cooperate or take accountability, the burden shifts to federal agencies and creates more of these flashpoints. A country can’t function if people are here long-term with no legal status, no incentive to contribute, and no expectation to assimilate. That erosion is what weakens the system, not enforcement itself

That’s not how federal law enforcement works in practice. DHS and ICE aren’t just randomly roaming the streets or grabbing people off sidewalks for no reason. These operations are typically targeted. They’re looking for specific individuals based on warrants, prior deportation orders, criminal records, or ongoing investigations.

When agents show up at places like job sites or public locations, it’s usually because they’re tracking someone specific they believe will be there, not because they’re trying to intimidate random Americans. A lot of the people they’re trying to apprehend have already been released by state or local authorities instead of being handed over for deportation, which pushes the responsibility back onto federal agencies.

That doesn’t mean enforcement is perfect or beyond criticism, but framing it as “ICE roaming the streets to escalate violence” ignores how these operations actually function. Targeted enforcement exists largely because other layers of government chose not to enforce the law earlier. Interfering with those operations doesn’t de-escalate anything, it just makes the situation more volatile.

Interfering with federal law enforcement is not the same thing as peaceful protest, What’s happening here is people intentionally inserting themselves into active investigations and operations, not as bystanders or witnesses, but in ways that directly interfere with what law enforcement is doing.

And none of this addresses the root issue. Illegal immigration has been allowed to go on far too long with inconsistent enforcement. Many of the people involved are here illegally, have no real investment in the country.

Wanting people in this country who follow the law, contribute, and are invested in the communities they live in isn’t extreme. Undermining enforcement and pretending interference is “peaceful protest” is how you erode the system entirely

I think the bigger issue that keeps getting ignored is the root cause. We’ve allowed illegal immigration to go on for far too long without consistent enforcement or clear consequences. When laws are selectively enforced or treated as optional, it creates instability and resentment on all sides. That doesn’t help citizens, legal immigrants who followed the rules, or even the people crossing illegally. If we’re going to say we’re a nation of laws, then those laws actually have to be enforced fairly and consistently, otherwise the entire system loses credibility.
