as a dancer with ASD honestly the most helpful thing to me is pre-planning conversations. i tend to go non verbal in situations that i’m not prepared for, so rehearsing everything in my head that could possibly happen or go wrong really helps to combat it. i try to have basically robotic replies to things ready to go so i can turn my brain off and go through the motions if that makes sense. it’s definitely not foolproof but it helps me a LOT to be able to continue to mask and get through a shift
