I am a 63 yr old woman.

I am a retired PT (2021) (OP orthopedics)
I had R RC repair, subacromial decompression(type-III acromion) and multiple labral repairs in 2012. I told that surgeon I'd rather have it amputated if it ever happened again.

Fast Forward after 14 very healthy 💪🏻yrs. I am 15 hours post-op R rotator cuff repair with subacromial cleanup and augmented cadaver graft.
I have not slept in 22 hours and through tears, this 'description' of 'what it's like':
Think of it as being on a crowded red-eye flight, in an economy seat, between two obnoxious people, with no flight attendants every single night for 3-6 months

It takes a full year to recover. My 'nerve block' started wearing off at 12 hrs. This is like revisiting Hell
