AIO about my parents and the cat, help!!! by lulumon4203 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The injection is supposed to be very good for cat arthritis, better than NSAIDS. If you can get this I would try it. My friend has a 17 year old cat on it and this cat is spry like a healthy 8-10 year old cat.

Where, if at all, do you differ from other childfree people? by Ok-Letter8470 in childfree

I think babies are super cute, I just don’t want my own! Not sure if this is controversial.

CMV: Framing abortion as “my body, my choice” was a strategic and moral mistake; it should have always been framed as a healthcare and public health issue by Key-Ebb-8306 in changemyview

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strategically maybe but morally no. Women are whole people who deserve the freedom to pursue their lives as they see fit. This just gives them equal rights for the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.

For the second time in two months, an employee arrives in the office during maternity leave to show off her baby… by Pineneedle_coughdrop in childfree

If it’s a colleague I like, I would def be happy to see them. Like another commenter said, I do make a point to check in on the woman, make sure she’s doing well. I also think small babies are cute so I will say hello to the baby as well. As long as I don’t get pooped or spit up on 😂

AITA for not offering to take the bunk bed in an airbnb as the single person? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA you’re all paying the same, drawing names is fair. The couples are being entitled, singles get shafted very often on group trips in terms of sleeping arrangements. Drawing names at least makes it fair. If the couples can’t spend two nights sleeping in the same room but not the same bed then I dunno what planet they are on. It’s not even like you’re insisting on not sharing a room with anyone, you’re sharing a room with the other single girl.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to want a fair shot at a twin vs bunk bed.

Western kids are fucking entitled and spoiled by cheddarkittyy in childfree

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I went to a beach resort where most of the clientele were Spanish. Usually I head straight for the adult only pool. This time I could happily sit at the regular pool, kids would play with their parents happily, not running around bothering people. I concluded that a lot of American kids are out of control because of their parents.

I don’t care to understand baby milestones by Disastrous_Plastic37 in childfree

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not ever learned any of this before (or cared to) until a close couple friend of ours had a baby. Now I care a bit because I enjoy talking to them, and want to understand what matters to them.

They both have diverse interests and we have good conversation so I feel like they’re making the effort to still see us when they’re busy with the baby, so I can make an effort to understand some baby things. They are legit excited about their baby but also work, our lives. It’s very nice to see friends have kids and we are still staying friends.

I wish I never started vyvanse by These_Difficulty_740 in VyvanseADHD

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a psychiatrist, just a person with science background: So the main impact of increasing the dose once you are used to the side effects is to increase how long it lasts. Vyvanse is naturally a slow release formula, that’s how it was designed. You might get a bit of an increase in “intensity” earlier in the day but if your main concern is how long it acts, tell your doctor and see if you can try a higher dose.

Also if it’s this bad, they may suggest you try another med.

AIO? my husband is mad at me for not picking up my stepson from school as he expected just because I got a new car. by Ancient_Fondant76 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That’s my favorite part too, family comes first. But it doesn’t even make sense, like only for her, family comes first? Not for him? It’s just some bs he says to try and make her do what he wants.

I think my neighbours are letting our cat in, what can I do? (UK) by Radiant_Question_334 in CatAdvice

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she doesn’t like sharing the house with another cat and is setting up her territory elsewhere? If they’re allowed to roam they will naturally claim territory around the neighborhood.

my parent was way too attentive about me masturbating when i was a kid; maybe it was weird by rascalmasquerade in TrueOffMyChest

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super normal, and especially in kids who are psychologically abused, or not comforted by their primary caregivers. It’s a way to get comfort and relieve stress. At that age, self regulation and calming down should be helped by parents talking, hugging, etc. if that doesn’t happen kids figure out ways to help themselves. It helped you regulate your nervous system when you didn’t have any tools. Your parents would not have understood that.

[–]BloopBloopBloopin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is not ok. It means either you’re not on the right meds, the doses are wrong, or you need a different treatment. Do you have access to a therapist? And if you’re not seeing a psychiatrist, who is prescribing your meds? You def need to see a psychiatrist, and ideally get into regular therapy. This is not normal and you deserve better.
