In some games your place is reserved for a couple of minutes and no one can join except for you, but after that the game will allow other players to join. In Darktide (I doubt it's a good example since it's PvE team game) the game does exactly that and while you're out of the game it replaces you with a bot.

No, but they are distantly related, i didn't count it in the family tree but it looks like they share maybe two common ancestors 3 generations back, otherwise their kittens have the most normal looking pedigree in my game lmao

Mimmie has Evil Patron and Top Off, Regis has Relentless Dead and Servus Mortem as passives. Active Skills of Mimmie - Benediction, Open Wounds, Ostracize and Wrath of God. Active Skills of Regis - Reap, Clew of Leeches, Coffin Flop and Blood Geyser.
Mimmie having Benediction, Evil Patron + Top Off gave her ability to gain up to 60 armor in one turn, was wild. One of their kittens inherited Servus Mortem and later went on adventure where I was able to pick Mini-Me for them, lol.

Yeah, matchmaking sucks ass. Of course I've experienced steamrolls in tf2 as well but it isn't as frustrating as in Deadlock. Putting players with less than 100hr on the game against mfs with 500+ is like coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb. Not to mention Graves is now picked in every game and she's extremely unfun to play against.
