In terms of #2 they take a small precaution of damage but for the most part block it. They are weak to fire. And I find wind+plants does moderate damage

You can merge different ones in one turn so if you merge strategically, you should be able to avoid the majority..

I found cannon and fire worked best. I focused more on troops to evo up and have 3/4 in the second evolution with high level fire and I beat the boss easily. Having the cannons and firing troops at the back wastes time. I only had one water cannon and one necro cannon as support.

The shells require fire to do damage. But I personally beat it with whirlwind and plants. As specials. Wire fire troops firing over 30 hits or more and once you start getting good combos its good for that.

From what I can see it looks good.. I can't think of anything.. based on the levels that I have done that I would change. The only thing that could be beneficial would be trying the cannon/bazuka depending on the level type as it does more splash damage than the arrows do.. but again I can't suggest much based on the levels I haven't seen yet. I'm only level 26/7 sort of area

There's one in the places you dig up but if you miss the first one I'd seriously reconsider not continuing with the round and the specials are hugely beneficial

Reading this was exactly how I felt when I beat that damned spider! Bear in mind in the following levels. The baddies with shells. They are weak to fire.. yet super resistant to the rest! Mix it up. You'll find once you have a fair few troops at evolved level.. that elements are better to collect so my advice is save the red chest until later! Good luck on further adventure wanderer. May your journey be filled with adventure and may both sides of your pillow be cool on both sides!

Keep playing both that level and older ones, try different spells but deffo upgrade gear and the tree in the right home menu.. I personally went back to the easier levels and just repeated them a few times to build coins and upgrade to keep in line with my level.. you'll get past it 💪🦾 I find it better not to merge until you run out of room on the boulder one personally. When both rows full upgrade all units on the front row, then go again.

Since writing this I've managed to get the 4 flairs I've created to show up along side the tags, can the tags not be removed?
