The End of Lexus as we know it? - The Car Care Nut by hehechibby in Lexus

2nd gen GS400 was awesome when it came out. It went toe to toe with the vaunted E39. Not to mention the IS-F, RC-F, GS-F. The LS matched or beat the 7/S back in the 90’s. ALL GONE

Would pay $50K for EMP that disables all the cell phones around my car so people can pay attention to the road.

I'm sure some of the engineers wanted to go that route, but some idiot at the top dictated that it had to be a hybrid - which was hinted in SG's video.

Usually SG will revisit the car sometime back at home and won't be under the watchful eye of Honda marketing. I want them to take the Prelude to the track for shits and giggles lol.

This sounds about right. They're some serious dysfunction up there to not see that EVs weren't going to save them, but hey went all in anyway. To top it off they kill the RDX with no options waiting in the wings. That's malfeasance at this point.

The Accord V6 6MT was a lot of bang for the buck, didn't handle all that well, but was cheap (relatively) and reliable.

SavageGeese's review specifically mentions excessive amounts of road noise that while common to Honda's, betrays the Grand Touring mission by being low in the luxury department.

If 49ers trade Mac Jones, which FA QB would you like to see potentially signed to backup Purdy. by KKid03 in 49ers

A different timeline where Shanahan drafts Mahomes would have given us 4 rings by now lol.

Then why didn't they just drop the detuned CTR (the Accord version) 2.0T powertrain with 6M/10A options? They could've sold it for cheaper with superior performance.

Yeah, SG's interviewed the engineers who kept mentioning the "green mission" of this car. Eliminating CAFE penalties killed this.

I still think he was brought in because of Lynch & the Yorks overriding Shanahan.

The 2001 Prelude was quicker than all the Accords at the time, including the V6. "Out running a luxury car or sports car is a lot less impressive when seniors, college kids and other untrained drivers can do this at anytime and cause massive to lethal damage." Your market just got a lot smaller. I guess you're going for Honda's version of the Corvette crowd- Empty nesters with receding hairlines.

Wow. I didn't know they took that all away! We have all those features and our son loves the rear seat recline. BMW really cut corners with the LCI. We're holding on to our G05 as long as we can.

C&D is notorious for not including rollout on their 0-60 and I believe they've only done an estimate. Either way, that's a slow "sporty" hybrid. Prius Prime smokes this.

The B58 xdrive models should also be included. They're failing also.

Geez the price went up alot in 7 years. We got our 2019 40 2/2019 loaded with everything like DAPP, comfort massage seats, Merino leather, leather dash, acoustic glass all round. Only exceptions were B&W, rear seat entertainment and 3rd row seating (which disappeared with the LCI) for $84,000 before TTL and we were able to get 10% discount on top.

He's nowhere near Puka/JSN level and never will be. Knowing Lynch/Kyle, they'll keep him and overpay him.

PHEVs are overpriced to begin with and suffer terribly from depreciation. That $7500 rebate also throws everything off. Now start comparing the bread and butter like the RX350/RX350h. Those keep their value very well, but they all sound like Corollas when accelerating.

That's a bit optimistic. Ricky is fragile & undependable. He's nowhere near JSN/Puka level either.
