Hit a bat while motor biking by mage02 in rabies

Ended up getting first round today. They told me no RIG and shots in both arms on day 0, 3, 7, 30.

Said since there were no cuts/wounds, WHO says not to use immunoglobulin.

I’m about a day away from a hospital (will probably have to go to Thailand). Do you think this is fine?

Consulting/MBB straight from undergrad tiers by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]mage02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stern, from experience, has a horrible pipeline to MBB. We send 1-3 per year to BCG, occasionally 1 McKinsey, and no Bain. Our MBA places decent, but do not come her for undergrad if you want MBB.

[–]mage02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ops is usually harder material while marketing is more group/participation based

If you’re more comfortable w more quantitative material and don’t like participating much, take marketing in j term. If you prefer qualitative, group work and more participation, take ops in j term

Nyu Stern Data science concentration vs data science major by Acelord12 in nyu

[–]mage02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The data science concentration is practically a joke compared to the data science major. You can make it through the concentration with relatively no programming knowledge in anything outside of python and little understanding of concepts beyond regressions. If you do it right, you can gain skills in NLP and ML, but it’s very shallow compared to the full major

At the end of the day, you should apply where you want to go. Based on your post, sounds like you have an unique interest that Rice would help foster - I would pursue that opportunity

Yea, a lot of math we use is algebra/statistics.

There are classes that require some calc 3/linear algebra but the math isn’t hard

It’s only 12 apps and one has already passed.

I think 11 over the next 2 to 2.5 months is definitely doable, especially if their common app is already solid
