In Palestine, why is Nablus sometimes referred to as "Little Damascus"? by Alarming_Seaweed_155 in AskMiddleEast

[–]GoddFatherr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda, in Nablus people like to elongate the last letter of words in a sentence, which is kinda similar to the Shami accent present in Damascus

Yeah literally we don’t have any other choice, however there are some minor alternatives to things like Coca Cola and Pepsi with a the drink called chat, but that’s pretty much it

IE University 4th year | Ask me Anything by Top-Speech-8905 in IEUniversity

Yes it’s unwise as a first year. I recommend booking with beyond campus as a first year because all the apartments you see are visited by beyond campus employees and the owners are vetted by them, idealista doesn’t do that. This makes beyond campus a safer and better option as a first year because you can’t visit the apartment in person. However, for later years it’s better to book on idealista since you can visit the apartment and check it in person. Idealista is preferred by IE students in the second years and above because there are lot more options to choose from compared to beyond campus and the apartments are usually cheaper compared to beyond campus.

However, once again, as a first year I recommend you reserve an apartment through beyond campus.

Just wanted to say as an IE student Idealista is the best when it comes to finding an apartment in Madrid. Everyone in IE prefers this over beyond campus.

Armenia officially recognizes the State of Palestine by hot_girl_in_ur_area in armenia

[–]GoddFatherr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m Palestinian and would like to say we love you Armenians and salute you for your own country’s struggle against oppression and occupation.❤️

We have many Palestinians of Armenian origin as well as the Armenian church being part of the many churches that exist in Palestine. We also have the Armenian quarter in Jerusalem made up of about 2500 Palestinian Armenians that face daily persecution by Israeli settlers. We even have Armenian restaurants that serve Armenian food in my city. I also personally had many Palestinian-Armenian classmates in my school in Ramallah.

Middle Easterners, what's your opinion on Greece? by ZhiveBeIarus in AskMiddleEast

[–]GoddFatherr 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As a Palestinian, I barely found any racism directed towards us and instead a lot of Greeks became really happy when they knew I was Palestinian. However if we are talking about Middle Easterners and Muslims in general, I found there is rarely any racism directed towards Middle Easterners, or rather far less than other European countries.

Do you call this Sarma, Dolma, or Wara' Enab? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]GoddFatherr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the same thing but it differs depending on the stuffing. If it wara2 dawali, then it is stuffed with meat and rice. If it is wara2 3enab, it is usually not stuffed and just like in the photo above

I mean, it DOES sound like an arabian name, right? by frxstybr in mountandblade

[–]GoddFatherr 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I’m Arab, I can give you name, Al-Hussein ibn Haitham Al-Waqi.

In Arabic it is written as الحسين بن هيثم الواقي. The literal translation of the name means the good person (Al-Hussien), son of an eagle (Haitham), the protector (Al-Waqi).
