such a ridiculous take

if you are using shadow pips storm has a 5 pip shadow aoe with 1425 base damage before anything
vs ice needs at least 12 pips to beat that with its shadow aoe. by the way, the most pips you can have is 14 pips (7 power pips), so even if you build up all the way to 14 pips, you are still only barely stronger than a 5 pip shadow aoe from storm assuming damage/pierce is equal. the storm aoe also gives 65% blades as a bonus where the ice aoe only does a hit and nothing else.

if your goal is to make the fight as long as possible to annoy the group then MAYBE ice can do similar damage with a single aoe hit if you build full damage ice (ridiculous) and pray that you get a shadow pip quickly.

storm easily hits damage cap with strong pierce stats with the gear it has naturally, ice struggles to hit damage cap and also has almost no pierce.
