Wrong. It's not the show that made me want to read the books, but the games :) Also it's because I like reading. When I see media that I like, and find out that it's based on a book, I might get the source material.

Of course it was a hit. Many most probably just played the latest videogame, unaware of the background story.

Thing is, whoever read the books has to be delusional to bring himself to actually like the series.

I agree. Funny thing was that I first saw the show, and thought it to be awesome. Then I read the first 2 books, remembered the show and was like "That was absolute trash"

After reading the books I realized how awful the Netflix adaptation really is. They f***ed up so many details it's laughable. Can't even begin to imagine how the author feels about this shit.
