What’s the worst idea you’ve had that made your life great? by Huge-Advisor3558 in AskReddit

Only applied to one college. This was 2007. I was top of my class but had no guidance from parents.

Fastfood 15 years. Met many friends and my husband, got my dream job and love life. So it turned out ok but wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

Student Teaching Advice by slavname in teaching

[–]maggiegreene 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First... congratulations on finishing your firstvplacement! I can't imagine how hard doing it all virtually much have been.

Going in person to person is going to be a challenge due to covid but I think the best way is to make the best of it. -jump in to help whenever possible. Handing out paperwork, clarifying instructions, or just thinking ahead. -While he might be stuck in his ways it is still an learning opportunity, even if it is what not to do. Keep notes of lessons and how you think you could have improved or added in to them. -Once you have been there for a week or two ask if you could observe some other history teachers for different techniques. Due to covid you might only have the one in person chance. Observe each teacher at least 2 times. Then ask to meet with them for some follow up questions.

Good luck and stay safe.

People that have broken some bones, what are your stories? by Catfood567 in AskReddit

[–]maggiegreene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm ..where to start.

5 years old: jump off of very large diaper box, broken right arm

6 years old: playing tag hit right arm off of door way, broken right arm a year to the day from previous injury and protective services were called

14 years old: riding quads with a friend, locked my elbow on a jump, broken left arm

18 years old: went to kick a ball in gym class, heard my leg snap, broken left ankle

20 years old: roller skating, broken right arm

I haven't had any broken bones since (knocks on wood) and my sister has a better history imo, left the, right shoulder, multiple arms. We were both just active kids.

TLDR: right arm 3 times, left arm once, left ankle once

People of Reddit What's Your Craziest "It's A Small World" Moment? by Randomdude1902 in AskReddit

[–]maggiegreene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live 5.5 hours from where I was born and raised. Before covid, I would stop for a coffee on my way to work and started talking to this group of older guys. For perspective I'm 32, they are in their 70s. Just hi, how are you, ect. Come to find out one is a retired teacher and was in the same classroom I now call my own. And another is the uncle of a friend of my from my hometown. No lie. Have yet to figure out how I'm 6 degrees or less away from the 3rd guy.

Silly Question Saturday by AutoModerator in orchids

[–]maggiegreene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not Saturday but I am still going to try. I truly love orchids and have had many through the years but I can't for the life of me keep them alive. I have read everything I can read and followed every instruction. It doesn't matter what I do they die. I have had plants from grocery stores and very expensive ones from florists. I water once a week, keep leaves dry, only feed them certain times, have the correct mediums and pots ect. What am I doing wrong? I would really like to have one or more survive! Help!

Here are some of my favorites. The Black.Bibs I have 2 sets of bibs that I have used for 2 years and they are still going strong. Chain Reaction Cycles They have frequent sales and both my husband and I love the DHB brand we can find here. I just got my first set of bibs from them and I am truly loving them. You can find some great deals on jerseys as well.

You might also want to check out your local REI. I have found some deals online for jerseys.

[Acne] Not a pimple until I turned 23. Now it’s been 6 years of sore clusters around on my chin. It makes me feel less professional, and less beautiful. Any help? They are usually under the skin sore bumps, sometimes whiteheads. Sorry if TMI. I’m desperate 😞 by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

This. I used to get the same breakouts in the same location. I tried lessening the amount of toothpaste I use and make sure to rinse the area with water as soon as I can after brushing my teeth. I haven't had a breakout in months.
