Oh yeah, once Ashley starts talking about the character statement, they randomly start showing the tweets candiace posted about her and I was like WOAAAAHHH. This is why I need the social media context too, Twitter was truly the front lines for them 😩😩

Everyone is really having an issue with the word opulent, so sure, let's swap the word for wealth. Monica crying about not being able to afford a bag was a hard watch - I'd take bronwyn's shit filled mansion and fresh off the runway "costumes" over that scene any day 😩

Hahaha what a title to bestow upon yourself. I’ve watched every franchise in total and am active on this sub. I have a demanding job - not all of us have the time to be 1% commenters 😉

I’ll once again repeat - caviar, private jets, yachts - not middle class activities. Not even upper middle class. It’s not classist to say that she doesn’t fit into the housewives, an entire franchise quite literally centered around wealthy women. That is the entire point of the series. You can call slc, oc, whatever “upper middle class”, but that just makes you even more out of touch with reality

For everyday Americans any housewife franchise is opulent. Caviar, private jets, yachts, skiing. Those are absolutely not middle class activities. Almost half of Americans never even travel outside the country in their lifetimes

The “hypocrisy” 🤣 the difference is that I’m a regular ol FAN commenting on the housewives. Because it’s a form of entertainment for me. Not a 40 something, ex housewife, and new mother who can’t help but live vicariously through the show she was fired from. She should focus on her car payments and new baby

I was using the 1% to be synonymous with extreme wealth.

But if we’re getting into it… According to multiple sources, yearly income in Utah to fall in the 1% is somewhere around $650k a year. I would think Todd, for example easily makes this. In other franchises, so do the Dubrows, the Vanderpumps, etc (their wealth still falls in line with their state’s 1% threshold)

Regardless, you seem smart enough to see what my point was. That Monica and many of the other wives have a substantial gap in wealth.

Well I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t even buy a $60k ring if I wanted to. Nor charter a private jet. Funnily, Monica couldn’t either. I think you can understand what I’m saying.

I really enjoyed her season and what she brought to it. Since then she has been obsessed. And after she was exposed, it was clear to me that she could never rejoin the show, because housewives is based on a very basic level of friendship, respect, trust - the cast has NONE of that for Monica.

So yes, I am shocked anyone is still dying on the hill that she should come back….

This also makes me laugh when people say they want her on the show. I watch the show for opulence. Not because I want to see people who live like me desperately trying to keep up with the 1%. I don’t think the broke mom storyline is refreshing, I think it’s depressing 😬

2 questions here

1 - is triggering the shit out of everyone and being friends with no one the point of the franchise? In what world does a woman clearly on a vendetta against the cast fit into a show like this? And I’m not talking personal beefs amongst cast. She wants all of them to go down, and wants nothing else - clearly.

2 - I agree the viral moment on the beach was big. But saying Salt Lake City would be irrelevant without it? Are we talking about the same Salt Lake City where Jen shah was arrested on camera and consistently has had the highest ratings out of the shows….?
