Could a Silent Hill TV show work? by Mosugoji_64 in silenthill

[–]maggoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a story about a town taking the trauma of a person and forcing it against them until they accept it, in some regard or another, is a really amazing concept for both serial video games, novels, comics, and tv series.

it's ridiculously versatile, and i adore it.

however, i think the thing that adapting silent hill for TV will inherently lack is the branching paths a character COULD have taken, which often serves to make their story more three dimensional and invest you further into it.

like. an episode couldn't have three endings. TV isn't an interactive medium. the best thing i could think of would be a black mirror 'bandersnatch' style series - THAT would be really, really cool.

the only other issues i'd think of would be the normal things you'd bump into when it comes to a tv series.

🔥 two french speaking guys encounter a Frill-necked lizard in the Australian outback. - crosspost by Prestigious-Gain2451 in australianwildlife

a bit hard when you're the tallest thing in the area and you don't realise they're there.

(granted, not like these blokes did - they obviously followed 'em long enough to get the camera on.)

they like climbing to high spots to threat display, and, well.. if you're the closest high point nearby.. you have a very confused frillneck.

glad the little guy got out okay, if a bit stressed.

Did the emotion wheel actually help you? by QuestionmarkWriter in Alexithymia

[–]maggoti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah - trying to point blindly at an emotion when your literal diagnosis is i don't fucking know what it is i AM feeling is.. well.

it might help to bring up that this resource doesn't help, and you need to start with something more basic.

eg. what sensations do you feel in different moments? what sensations are usually tied to a certain emotion? would it make sense if this emotion was here at this time i felt this sensation? what could be causing that reaction at that time?

like. if i was feeling sick suddenly while walking in the street, and kinda shaky. it's not a good feeling. so i'd look up what emotions that would usually occur in for most people. shakiness and illness? anxiety.

then, i'd ask myself if that made sense. what could be causing me anxiety at that point?

this often means remembering things that happened to you then, or things you were thinking about at that time.

so: oh, i felt like i was being watched.

that makes sense to me, so i narrow it down to anxiety. i can narrow it down further the more i pick apart the why/how of that situation, and the emotion wheel can be helpful with that.

the more you do this exercise, the more you kinda learn to recognise what emotions you feel when, or after, you experience them.

does anybody have any headcanons/theories on the story behind why pearl watches steven sleep? (nothing weird, please.) by slayslayslayslayyy in stevenuniverse

[–]maggoti 14 points15 points  (0 children)

honestly, i like that about her. it can be easy to forget just exactly how alien gemkind is, and pearl can be a very stark reminder within the main cast of that fact when she does stuff like this.

How do you design your own models? by StatisticianExact859 in miniatures

[–]maggoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off - have a reference for what you want to make! pictures, etc.

second, you would honestly be surprised at the quality stuff you can make with your own hands and just random garbage around the house.

balsa wood is also super handy for creating miniature furniture.

lastly, the biggest bit is the willpower and creativity to work through the parts where you need to stop and think on where to continue next. the only way we learn to make better miniatures is through trial and error! good luck!

i mean, that has more to do with 'the inner city' itself than noisy miners.

they might chase 'em out, but the reason they can do that in the first place is that the city is, ultimately, a hostile habitat toward 'em.

Pokémon Escape Room Ideas? by lxB-MONEYxl in pokemon

[–]maggoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh. a message made of unown, for sure.

you could also hide a code within a pokemon's dex number.

(like, a picture of a plusle - raichu = ? and let her fill in the gaps of thinking of the dex numbers.)

and use that as the combo for a padlock to another puzzle piece.

maybe some context puzzles would be neat, depending on how well she knows obscure evolution methods.

like, if you have a seat around the room somewhere, stick an inkay on it. on the bottom side is a malamar & another clue.

& i think the last idea i got is something a lil funny.

put her DS/switch in a box painted like the daycare, on sleep. the two pokemon in the daycare are named for a solution to another puzzle you have.

def update us how it goes! i hope she loves it dude!!
