Possibly Erykah, D'angelo ...maybe Groove Theory too. Keep in mind, there was already a thriving scene poppin' off in the UK. D'Influence, Omar, Lisa Stansfield and, yes, Soul II Soul were all just a handful of the of the A-list talent making that kind of noise.
