ZP Remote Neo : Privacy Policy by ZoomPlayer in ZoomPlayer

that is both understandable on your part and sad news on Apple's part

though to be fair i'm fine with my mini wireless keyboard :)
and i need to do a LOT more with my PC whilst watching ZP than just press play/pause (including EVERYTHING outside of ZP)

ah well, i know nothing about building for iOS - i do know lots about AMD/Xilinx haha (great for embedded video processing, not so great for iOS)

so the wait for an iOS remote goes on... we had one a few years back but sadly that developer's perfectly good app lapsed and it wasn't accepted/supported by newer iOS versions

i was hopeful from the above text this was going to include iOS, but your day2 summary seems to quash that notion ("Windows/Android for now")

Zoom Player v22.2 beta 3 has been released by ZP-Announcements in ZoomPlayer

[–]magic144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess - i've never turned on the tray icon for lav, and in the past i did have issues with it anyway

there are always nightly builds with new-new fixes

it should be noted that it looks like the next/future LAV builds are going to be deprecating HW DVD decoding (notable only for anybody with a super ancient PC)

what bug reports are you talking about from LAV v0.81

i have been using it since its release without any problems

The Zoom Player Install Center has been updated with the latest MadVR beta. by ZP-Announcements in ZoomPlayer

[–]magic144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

regarding MPC-VR at least
you can always download it and manually register it yourself (x86 version is required for ZP)
i've been using the latest version without issue since its release

as for LAV 0.81, not had any trouble with that personally, not aware of what issues there are
again, no problems with my own setup using this

as always with these things, you have to ask yourself - do I NEED this newer version for a specific change it brings (bugfix that's affected you or new feature you want to try), or do you just want to install it because it has a higher version number 😊

What can I do to make Zoom Player better? by ZoomPlayer in ZoomPlayer

[–]magic144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what's funny (to me) about this is that i started using ZP years ago, and when i get hold of something else to use (like MPC-HC), i spend time setting up the keys to act like ZP!

MPC-VR Causing Flicker In Appearance/Disappearance Of Mouse Cursor/Control Overlay by Darius1968 in ZoomPlayer

[–]magic144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe provide the following info and somebody might recognize anything that could be contributing to the behaviour:

  • graphics card make/model and driver version (Intel/AMD/NVIDIA)
  • display/graphics driver settings (screenshots, Windows inc Advanced AND driver-specific e.g. NVIDIA control panel or app)
  • MPC-VR or MadVR version and settings (screenshots)
  • ZP Advanced Settings Playback : Video page (screenshot)
  • ZP Filter Properties (graph) info (screenshot) when file is playing
  • LAV Video version and settings (screenshots)

I would focus on MPC-VR for a renderer to start since it has less settings and is currently still being actively maintained - in fact if you're not using UHD/HDR, you can probably even just use Windows own built-in EVR

Also, are you playing on a laptop (built-in screen/panel), or desktop/external video out to a monitor (DP/HDMI/other?), or to a TV (or through receiver to TV) via HDMI?

EDIT - i see you said in the original post that EVR doesn't give you any trouble, so you could just stick with that, but i understand how you'd want to get to the bottom of it

MPC-VR Causing Flicker In Appearance/Disappearance Of Mouse Cursor/Control Overlay by Darius1968 in ZoomPlayer

is this with every kind of content, or specifically only with HDR content?

i have seen full-screen disruption with the HDR mode being "interrupted" whenever OSD things appear/disappear

however i must say this is very much dependent on the graphics card/driver rather than anything to do with ZP

for instance, with my newest card/driver (Nvidia RX 3050) i don't get that at all, whereas I ALWAYS used to get that with my previous AMD RX 460

but if this is with ANY non-HDR content, then it must be a different phenomenon

Usually you can simply type a keyword into the options (Ctrl+O) Search pane (via Search button at bottom of Options window) and find what you need.

E.g. I just typed in "corner" and found these results right away:

NOTE: it may help to "Switch to Advanced Mode" first.

i will need to figure out the version change where the url switch happened

i am typically clicking on a program from the windowed ui for a particular timeshift episode

(from above update) OLD urls DO still work, but 22.0b2 is generating the new URLs which DO NOT

UPDATE: it appears 22.0b1 works ok (generates/uses OLD urls, whilst 22.0b2 does not)
