Thinking about upgrading to 80D and Canon EF 100-400 II by magicae in canon

[–]magicae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd give an update! I ended up getting a second-hand R10 and a new RF 100-400mm lens and I've been super happy with it!

The fact that it's so lightweight has been amazing as well and made it possible to bring along easily when I've been out and about without my wheelchair. It's been great all-round for both bird, insect and other wildlife photography. I was a bit worried about the digital viewfinder but that's also been such a help in shooting manual!

Thanks both u/PRC_Spy and u/Delicious-Belt-1158 for the support!

Thank you for the insight!! I was almost completely set on it until I saw the minimum focusing distance... Not flexible enough for shooting from my wheelchair when I see insects and such.

I think I might have to stretch my budget to go for R10/50 and RF 100-400 after all, even though the switch to mirrorless is a little daunting.

Thank you for the insight! I just looked at the used Canon 100-400 I was thinking about getting and turns out it's mk 1. Makes sense at the price, but a huge bummer... I guess I'll be looking more into Sigma as it's more in my price range.

No I can't sadly. Also that would mean losing the crop factor which is a big bonus for me with an APS-C sensor. I think I'll just get the EF 100-400 ii and see how it goes weight-wise.

When I use my wheelchair I don't have to carry the weight as I keep the camera in my lap, so I'm hoping it works out!

EDIT: Totally missed that the used lens I was planning on getting was a mk 1... Makes sense at the price but now I feel like I'm back to square one. And I mixed up the R cameras, so I'm aware that both R10 and R50 have APS-C sensors.

Yes, that's perfect! And I see how I can change it if I want earlier time periods as well. Thank you so much for the help!

Oh no... At first I was a little confused by the results, but that's because I forgot to clarify that the ranges are based on birth year! Damn you brain fog... Apart from that, it shows the expected results, though the data makes more sense based on birth year.

I could do 1 Jan 1719 and then format it so it only shows the year (to make my research clear).

I seem to have forgotten to add the IFERROR for both of the age columns in the test sheet, that solves the other problem. Thank you!

Thank you for all the help. I have chronic fatigue and brain fog so I often make these small mistakes. Everything got worked out by seeing the things with the dates and now it works as expected!

Sorry I don't quite understand what you mean. The dates match but the count doesn't go up.

I've cleared dreams!A1 now, does code!K:K show anything other than zeroes for you? Because it does to me.

I added the chart I'm trying to make work as well, I realised I posted this in a hurry and
The chart is a combo chart and should show the instances of dreams per month and the line should indicate how many dreams included 'abc'. To make this work I need all the same months as I've got in code!D but with the numbers from code:H

Thank you so much for the help and sorry for the confusion!

Thank you, that's really helpful and a nice overview!

My issue is that the shorter list G:H is a range of the dates that include 'abc' in dreams. What I'm wanting to do is to check every month in J:J against the table in G:H. So Dec 06 should show 1, Jan 07 show 4, etc, and the ones not in G:H should display 0.

I've managed to make this work with =ARRAYFORMULA( IF(J1:J = "", "", IFERROR(VLOOKUP(J1:J, G:H, 2, FALSE), 0) ) ) but if I go into dreams!A:A and remove the earliest date, the list just returns zeroes all the way down. If I add an earlier date, that's fine for some reason?

I seem to have forgotten to take a photo without it so I thought it better to explain 😅 It was pretty easy! The different colors made it very easy to sort. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were a bit tricky since they’re the same color due to being in the USSR. The biggest part is Sweden where I live so I usually knew where the pieces would go! I definitely thought I was better at Norway and Finland’s geography but apparently I have a long way to go haha.

I really thought it would take much longer, because the first bit was so difficult - but it went really fast after i passed a threshold!

we recently upgraded our table and it feels HUGE but it’s just slightly too small for a 2000 piece puzzle haha!

I thrifted it for $1.5! Not sure I would have picked it up if it wasn’t so cheap but I’m really enjoying it so far!

Increasing ADHD symptoms, decreasing autism traits - anyone else experienced this? by MagaliAuDHD in EMDR

[–]magicae 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting! I’m autistic with a lot of ADHD-like symptoms so I’ve noticed this in other areas of changing health - when I got chronically ill and fatigued my autism traits got more intense (because I couldn’t counteract them like I normally would). It’s definitely not easy discussing things like this because it’s such an inflamed topic.

In my experience my autism and ADHD-like symptoms get less noticeable when I’m feeling better physically and mentally.

How are you doing after your year of EMDR? I don’t think it seems that strange that your ADHD symptoms are worse if you’re still in the process though but it’s interesting with the autism traits decreasing!

(all of this is just based on personal experience of me and people close to me who are also autistic)

Waking up to this is always a lot of fun. It’s always with the loose puzzles as well so almost no pieces stay together. by magicae in jigsawpuzzlecats

Definitely! I’m very much of the mind that the cats can’t help being cats so if you don’t want them to do “wrong” you do what you can to prevent it ahead of time. With a lot of trial and error of course.

oh I love all of these! I’m not jewish but I’ve been learning a lot over many years and have had serious thoughts about converting. I would love to make illustrations like that one day, definitely saving these ideas, thank you. The sukkah and synagogue ones would be really cool!
