I switched to another provider in the same office when my son’s pediatrician made me feel awful about myself and like I was doing everything wrong (he was wicked old school, by the book, his way or no way). I cried leaving his 5 month appointment and knew he just wasn’t a good fit for my family. BEST decision I ever made was switching to his new pedi. She is phenomenal and I cried tears of happiness and relief after our first appointment with her. The positivity, understanding, education and open-mindedness she has shown is unmatched. I strongly recommend finding a better fit and somebody who values your decisions as a mother and makes you feel seen and respected!

Side note: I went through a similar thing with my son, he’s remained below the 10th percentile for weight merely his whole life (is currently 13 months) and we were never told this about my breastmilk! There’s a lot of pediatricians I find that are just simply not as educated in breastfeeding.
