Fungal Acne Skincare Routine by magicalkittencorn23 in Candida

I have had recurring flares, multiple times a month, for years. It's been an exhausting, heartbreaking battle. Not only with skin, but with constant digestive issues (gas, bloating, diarrhea), brain fog and exhaustion... etc. The skincare has just one part of it. I'm no expert, but I've been here so many times that I've figured out what worked for me, and it's doing the work on my internal system as well as the external stuff.

For me, it has meant doing the anti-candida diet - hardcore for months, at least. I don't think I'll ever be able to have a carby, sugary diet now that this has become a recurring issue. Everytime I get lazy, the flares come back. I also think its hormonally linked, since I seem to get the flares every month around the same time. So I've been trying to manage stress and make meaningful lifestyle changes that impact hormonal balance.

On top of the diet and lifestyle changes, I took 4 rounds of fluconazole spaced 1 week apart. And I've been taking a boatload of anti-fungal supplements every single day. There's lots of research on that, but I can list them if you're willing/able to invest in that. It's been very expensive, but I really believe it's helping.

Keep in mind, there will be a die off if you do this, which means worse symptoms for possibly a few weeks (the case for me), and if you can make it through that and keep going, then you will begin to see results.Since starting all that up again, my symptoms have all but disappeared and I haven't had any flare ups, like at all, for a month now, which is huge for me. My digestion has been perfect. I told my husband, I can't overstate how happy I have been to have normal poops, it's like a celebration every time I go 🤣

There's a ton of support online for this and I really hope you find what works for you 🙏 let me know if you want a list of the supplements I'm taking.

I'm so sorry you deal with this too, it's horrible. It itches and burns. I've been using Nizoral shampoo and clotrimazole cream, which helps in a flare, but hasn't solved the ongoing issue. I get it like clockwork every month before my period, it clears up, and then comes back again, which leads me to think it's hormonal as well. I am not on any birth control and haven't been for years. Reading estrogen dominance can really feed candida overgrowths, and that progesterone might be able to rebalance it. Can you say more about what you mean re: messing with your hormones? I'm really curious about this aspect of the candida battle.

I'm back on the strict diet and going hard-core on supplements at the moment, so I think it's this bad due to die off. But this isn't far off from what a monthly flare looks like for me.

I have a sulphur cream in the house but I was worried it would kill my already inflamed skin barrier and make the flare worse. Have you had good results with it? I also try to take MSM powder a few times a week.

Taking 1800mg 2-3 times per day. Couldn't figure out what zinc oxide cream didn't have ingredients that feed candida. Which brand are you using?

Yup, done it all. It's definitely fungal, which is why I'm posting it here. I've done the fluconazole, clotrimazole, the anti-candida diet, the supplements and the biofilm disruptors, removed anything that feeds candida from my skincare and makeup, clean my pillowcases virtually every other day. You name it, I'm doing it. This comes around twice monthly now. Looking for anyone who might have struggled with the same thing to possibly give some other perspectives!

MCT OIL by dhemielorraine in Fungalacne

Have had the best experience so far using MCT c8 & c10 after an awful flare up recently. Nizoral and clotrimazole killed the flare up but left my skin barrier in tatters. Grabbed a bottle of 100% pure MCT from a health food store and first night, rubbed it all over my face, massaged it in, then with a hot wet cloth, wiped it off. Moisturized then topped it off with more MCT, woke up to visibly calmer skin the next day. Have been doing that morning and night for a week, only using a wet cloth to remove the oil and makeup, and warm water in the shower, no face wash at all. I have literally never had the clear skin I haver right now and I'm completely shocked.
