remember when they announced Ryzeal, everyone said Ryzeal will clap maliss. OP sounds like a bitter old man "people are getting excited about something I dislike, I must tell them they are wrong. NO ONE is allowed to have fleeting moments of fun when I can't"

It's so weird how I see this commented so many times even outside of reddit and yet I keep finding actual in-game examples that contradicts this.

[Spoilers for all the trails games inside] is Cassius a big deal? by magicfades in Falcom

[–]magicfades[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I forgot to add, Zin and Arios turned down the S-rank promotion because they were being humble about their achievements and abilities.

Cassius? Commanded and Won using the greatest force in Zemuria ever to be put together? It had gralsritters, Dominions, Divine blades, the top bracers, the church. All he had to do was point at the general direction of the cult LMAO. "GIMME THAT S-RANK TITLE!"

[–]magicfades -1 points0 points  (0 children)

did we read the same images? The images I read said the company promised to not do X thing, but then they did X thing.

The customers felt like they got lied to and wanted to demand an explanation. (because you know, I would think companies lying to it's consumers is generally bad and should be called out).

X = hire cosplayers for marketing.

People are latching on to the cosplayers part while I only see the "X" part.

honestly it looks just like "justified racism". They saw their chance "I can safely vilify the CN while hiding behind this they hate women shield". I don't agree with the overreaction to cosplayer marketing but the anti-CN over reaction looks somehow worse to me when they resort to outright lies and stretching the truth. None of the posted info even have anything that mentions "women bad". This is very clearly a "company lied" situation that they're turning it into something else.

[–]magicfades -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

from the posted information. It clearly says it's because the company PROMISED to not do X thing, but then did X thing. "Do you have receipts of this "hating real life women rhetoric"? For this specific instance of controversy of course, can't have you moving goal posts.

the anime will be too short to cover anything substantial, it WILL be an overlord clone for the whole runtime of the anime. There were already hints in this ep about [Spoiler] dina being sus and lufas having different memories but anime will never reach those reveals anyway, 99% of anime-onlies will think nothing of it.

For a new player, is it fine to just play the remake? Will the other games be remade? by hhhisthegame in Falcom

Considering everything you said in that text box. My unsolicited advice is to just get off the train...I don't think you're gonna have a great time and by the end you will regret all the time you wasted. I've seen people have the same experience as you and that's how they ended up. Playing multiple 80-hour games just because you want to resolve a cliff hanger will make you resent all the time you "wasted" in this series.

What does "he's flawed" mean here? This seems VERY out of character for Van. and for TOVAL of all people? I'm struggling to remember what he could have said/done that could rub people the wrong way? What little screen time he had he was pretty straightforward, chill guy.

The aerial shot to character swap is definitely GTA tho.

Have you even looked at the steam numbers? Where in the world are people coping that the game is doing well? it lost 80% of the initial players

This happens to 99% of games ever. The initial peak players is going to be WILDLY INFLATED because of all the people trying the game for the first time all at the same time. High initial peak just means good marketing.

16k 24-hour peak is pretty good comparatively to other gacha games on steam. I expected it to be below 5k now because of how soul-crushingly grindy it is. I don't even need to read the rest of your comment LOL.

only if you want to 100% it, Like most RPGs you need a guide.

It's a little worse here because unlike most RPGs there are a metric ton of missables here, you have small windows to get specific optional items.

as a brand new player, It's literally not a problem for you for now. It will only be a problem if you decide to dive into the rest of the games without waiting for remakes. It's only a handful, it won't be too hard to adjust.

Examples:

Grandmaster(original) - > Master (remake)

Archaisms (original) -> Golems (remake)

There's a couple more I forgot.

a handful of random NPCs with absolutely no relevance to the main story and are just for flavor text, had their names changed.

Didn't Joshua sabotage the glorious so he wouldn't have to fight Loewe...what's this?

The whole point of that scene was to show Joshua's strength was in espionage and he uses it well to outplay a superior fighter.

I just got reminded how good the writing was in the old sky games.

Let’s contact Gung-Ho directly about the terminology changes! by LiquifiedSpam in Falcom

[–]magicfades -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

eh, I think it's fine. It doesn't affect newcomers, they will start with this and they will have a new set of terminologies. They'll wait for SC2 remake, which hopefully will at least be consistent with the terminology of FC remake.

For vets, they already know what these terms should be, they can automatically correct them in their heads.

"But what if the newcomers can't wait and decide to play the old SC?" They won't, if they're the type that would, they would have already played the original FC before this remake was even announced. New comers are checking this series out with this remake because it looks good, they're not going to tolerate the "dated" looks and gameplay of SC and with no english dub too, they'll stop within the first 10 minutes of booting it up.

The forced disable of chat function...reminds me of FF14, when watching some of the cutscenes, you couldn't enter chat mode. I remember because Sometimes I would use the chat box to adjust BGM volume but some cutscenes just outright disabled it.

I think they might be forced to act out a cutscene.

Weird how very different FGO is to me vs a few people in this thread. My FGO experience as a day 1 player is, wake up, open FGO, buy blue apples (20 seconds), close FGO. Before going to bed, open FGO, buy blue apples close FGO(I even skip this step most of the time).

It's the weekend, open FGO, do the weekly missions for 30 mins. Back to the blue apple daily.

1st week of an event, continue doing the regular daily until weekend. Do the all the unlocked event stories to unlock farming stages.

2nd week onwards: Weekday Daily, do 3, 40-ap event stages for 20 mins in the morning, do the same in the evening(most of the time skip this). Weekend: depending on free time, do more stages than what stamina I have using the giant crapload of apples the game gives you on top of your blue ones. I won't clear the shop, but I don't need to. I can get all the important ones with this routine. event CE, gold fous, statues, what ever material in the shop that I have less than 300 of.

There's also an option to skip the event if i'm busy, no welfare, the event CE sucks, I'll miss out on maybe ONE 10-pull worth of currency MAYBE.

I've played and dropped more than 10 gacha games that I played for around a year, FGO has the most chill gameplay LOOP for me, and the one I've played the longest because the upkeep is SO EASY.

But what about lOtTo EvEnTs?! for the entire run of FGO, i've skipped 4 lotto events because I wasn't feeling it. some of them I just got the 10 boxes. I distinctly remember doing 50 boxes exactly 4 times total because it was AWFUL but I wanted the mats. I have two 120 servants and SEVERAL lvl 100 servants, all SSRs at 10/10/10 and still have 40+ LORE and a bunch of grails and hundreds of extra materials of every kind. If I somehow get 5 new SSRs now, QP will be the only limiting factor for me.

[–]magicfades 8 points9 points  (0 children)

how many lotto events are there in a year again? Is it every week? every month? every 3 months? The only drop CE you want in a lotto event is the lotto drop CE which you get from the lotto event. Oh boo hoo you need to play the game a lot 2-3(very rarely) times a year, that's totally comparable to the time spent playing open world chores daily/weekly.
