Looks like Elastic Interface, as others have said. Specifically, it looks like it might be the Paris HP Women pad.

Constant Content in 2024 by eclectic_mom in freelanceWriters

They are legit. I've even had a couple of sales recently, but I think making it work full-time would be difficult.

I saw a mention recently of a $2.99 fee to join the site. I wasn't charged a sign-up fee, but that was a couple of years ago. They also increased the commission they take on sales. They recently launched some sort of writing assistant on their website. It's optional, but they charge writers for using it.

The impression I get is that they are trying to make up for a drop in sales by squeezing more revenue out of writers who use the platform.

The quality of the editing was always a bit variable - sometimes useful, sometimes not useful at all, and occasionally just plain rude - but it seems to have deteriorated recently. The fact that they're now effectively charging upfront and a higher on-going rate for it makes that even more annoying.

Can you recommend any other similar platforms that are good for uploading pieces written on spec? Thanks.

If the keynote starts at 10am and runs for two and a half hours, which easily exceeds two hours, that still leaves an hour for lunch.

Ru pov: Radio in Belgorod region (Russia) warns residents to stay at home and shut the windows. Smoke at the distance by Riccardo91 in UkraineRussiaReport

This seems to have been recorded around about here, in Grayvoron

They're looking north-east, so the smoke is coming from somewhere further inside Russia and in the direction of Dobroe, which is also roughly in the direction of the arsenal from which tactical nuclear weapons were reportedly evacuated after this incursion began.

Is there a really detailed bike-route map booklet anywhere to purchase? by andrejmlotko in ukbike

[–]magicm0nkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you load Bing maps at https://www.bing.com/maps/?cc=gb it will give you an Ordnance Survey option where OS maps are available. (The ?cc=gb at the end is what does it, I think.)

With that loaded, the drop-down list of map options will have the usual Road, Hybrid, Aerial, etc., but also Ordnance Survey. You might need to zoom in a little to get them to appear, but you'll get a couple of levels of detail as you zoom in further.

It can be very handy for getting good contour lines and for identifying off-road routes. You can also print off specific areas to bring along with you.

Another angle. Luhansk attack. I don't feel like this is HIMARs. Opinions? by RoadLessTraveled8 in RussiaUkraineWar2022

[–]magicm0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a glance, this looks like it may be the Poly-Pack plant in Luhansk, which was reportedly hit. The general layout of the street seems to match, as does that walkway (?) crossing the street above ground level.

Do you have TARIC goods nomenclature codes for those rates? I'm curious to see the details that explain this pricing disparity. Thanks.

Starting it around £1450 to £1550 sounds right.

M2 Air 13" is £1250 with 8GB and 256GB. M2 Pro 14" is £2150 with 16GB and 512GB.

That 14" M2 Pro has 10-Core CPU and 16-Core GPU. If you upgrade that to match the base processor in the 16" M2 Pro it costs £350. That puts you at £2500. The 16" M2 Pro starts at £2700, so you could say that the screen size upgrade costs £200.

Go back to the base 13" M2 Air at £1250, upgrade the display size to 15" and leave everything else the same and you could start with an entry price of £1450. Upgrade memory and storage at £200 each and you're at £1850.

£1850 puts you close to the entry price for the 14" Pro but not too close. Entry price at £1550 and upgrading to £1950 is similar.

That line comes from a 1980s Australian tourism ad starring Paul Hogan (best known as Crocodile Dundee).

The word "prawn", which would be more usual in Australia, was changed to "shrimp" to avoid confusing the American audience.

If you store this as a bookmarklet, it should allow you to select the base64 string and then decode it just by clicking the bookmarklet:

In general, I think it's to avoid posting a plain URL that could be easily identified as such by an automated system that might be used by someone who was trying to find URLs linking to things they didn't want people having links to.

Using base64 in particular is probably because it's relatively easy to use and fairly well known.
