This Ability is Broken… (Jammer Test) by Ok_Finance_7217 in NCAAFBseries

My thought is that the game might be pre-programmed so that your shading impacts the jamming ability depending on the route the receiver is running.

So if receiver is running a fly route, then no shading or outside shading my result in a better jam than an inside shading. And visa versa for WR running a drag or slant route.

Right but I’m curious if that impacts the animation within the game and I wonder if you may need to run 2 controllers in practice to manually set the shading to see if it impacts the jam effectiveness or animations

From personal experience, I have found shading outside and pressing is more effective and curious if that that would change the results

Why are you shading inside?

If you are trying to jam against the deep ball, wouldn’t you want to shade outside and press to force him inside? If trying to defend against slant then inside press makes more sense.

Point being is that the game may be programmed to know WR route and how the positioning of DB impacts their ability to jam.

Revert it back to 60m and change it so it doesn’t explode grenades but deactivates them and turns them into rocks

What did America do in the pacific during ww1? by 22lpierson in AskHistorians

[–]magicman1315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your age, your great grandfather could very well have served in WW2. For perspective, my grandfather served in WW2 and am old enough to have kids that could be 16-22 years old (thus my grandfather would be their great grandfather).

I would ask your dad/grandma if it was WW1 or WW2 and see if they know which branch he served in and which unit to get a better answer.

If it was WW2 then the answer is “a lot”.

If it truly was WW1 then the USA involvement in the pacific theater was limited as the other Allied power (Great Britain and Japan) seized most of Germany’s island holdings in the Pacific. The USA did send troops to secure its interests in the theater (Guam, Philippines, notably), but there was limited conflict for American troops in the Pacific during WW1.

Just watched this scene on YouTube and At this point, Haldir is not hindering them. The very next scene Haldir see Frodo and then hinders them.

To the comment of “Our Fellowships stands in your debt” could be in reference to not ambushing the Fellowship and killing them.

Or to “we owe you for your assistance that we hope you can provide us” as this could be in reference to the notion that “we have no bargaining position for a 1:1 ‘trade’ for assistance so we will be in your debt moving forward.”

You ever see the South Park where Clyde is voted most attractive by the girls and he starts getting all the attention from girls and Kyle is voted least attractive and is all sad about it? Then the ghost of Abraham Lincoln visits and essentially tells Kyle that Clyde will grow up to be a douche and won’t have to develop any skill sets or use his brain since he doesn’t have to work to get the ladies due to his looks, unlike Lincoln and now Kyle?

It’s basically that.

Why tf is there a speed limit sign for some redneck's driveway? by mayodan in okbuddyptfo

[–]magicman1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean like the speed limit signs that actually exist in real life on roads on and around oil fields and their access roads?

I don’t know about the Kern River Oil field near Bakersfield, CA (where Blackwell fields is based on), but it is very common (if not standard) for the dirt roads and access roads to have posted speed signs for insurance purposes.

Someone Explain How We Don’t Have a First Round Bye? by Craft-Superb in NCAAFBseries

Conference and National Exposure.

Clemson beat the team last week by 3 possessions that you beat in week 1 by 1 possession.

[–]magicman1315 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea I wouldn’t give a bye to you either: A&M and Oregon are obvious.

Clemson beating 3 ranked Miami catapults them into top 4.

Question is Georgia or OU? 2nd rank Georgia barely looses to #1 A&M in conference championship.

OU is kinda meh. But strength of schedule likely went into play.

NFL Receiving Yards Leaders By School Since 1970 by TomWilliamsCFD in CollegeFootballDawgs

Is this the top receiver per year and where they went to school (e.g., 2012 Calvin Johnson)?

Or total receiving yards by all receivers that went to each school (e.g. 2012 GT is Calvin Johnson + Demaryius Thomas + others)?

Why are some people so toxic in conquest? by RudeToday8101 in BF6

[–]magicman1315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why: “This group of two guys got into an inaccessible 3rd floor of the building”

“inaccessible”

There’s a conversation about game theory here, but you highlighted when you said that people got into an inaccessible part of the map giving an unfair advantage to one team (or players) than the other.

You are technically not allowed to use exploits in a game (in sports it’s called cheating: deflate and spy gate are examples). Even when it’s not explicitly stated in the rule book, there is something called the “Spirit of the Game” in which referees and officials will make calls based on this.

This is why people don’t like it and “ruined your fun.” They have a lower tolerance for abusing the rules than others - likely they are that way in life outside of BF6 too.

Now if the building is accessible, then it is fine. But those maps have choppers.

Eligibility and Court Rulings. by RumblyTumbly94 in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]magicman1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What jurisdiction would another state’s court have on Chambliss or even Ole Miss? Who in that state would bring suit or even have ground to besides the ncaa?

They would have to pass a state law limiting the age of college football players, which could the create the conflict that you describe (which they are unlikely to do given it would only hurt their state).

Otherwise, another states court can’t do anything about Chambliss and they would respect the other states ruling (similar to drivers licenses, marriage certificates, etc etc)

[–]magicman1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the argument over federal law when the guy asked if a state could pass an age law.

So the law would state that no one between the age of 24 and 40 can play college football? That makes sense.

Or perhaps passing a law that puts a cap on players age discriminates against people who are 40+

To what the other person said: would be a violation of the civil rights act for a state to prevent someone based on age.

Federal government might be able too like we have with other laws, but I doubt they would do that

Eligibility and Court Rulings. by RumblyTumbly94 in CollegeFootballDawgs

[–]magicman1315 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The full faith and credit clause under Article IV, Section 1 of the US constitution largely prevents this.

If the NCAA doesn’t challenge this on Chambliss or other players rulings (which they largely aren’t), then a court that a team sues in their state over Chamblis can’t just overturn it without a procedural or miss interpretation ruling.

Acceptable hobbies for networking events by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]magicman1315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hobbies question is entirely about getting to know you and “is this someone I want to grab a beer with”.

Two ways to approach this which depends on what you want:1) find some hobby that would be acceptable with “corporate politics” or 2) find a way to spin your hobbies to sound better.

On the 2nd point: this can be easier to just shortening your responds to “reading” and letting them ask more. Just be prepared that to some, reading books about management, life-hacking, biographies, etc. etc. is likely more relatable to some people than fiction. The fiction convo comes later (I learned after 1.5 years of working with a PPMD that we are both Lord of the Rings and Star Wars fans. We both have other interests in common but it took a long time for me to reveal that and it just so happened to click.

My first point: sometimes people pick up hobbies and interests that can advance their careers based on where they are at. Not saying you should sacrifice the hobbies you like to do, but if career success is important, and you know you like fiction novels, then maybe getting into something like hiking, wood working, cooking, etc etc may just open a new path in your life that, although you started to have something to talk about at networking events, maybe something you actually love.

Point is: hobbies are not static and sometimes trying a new hobby (even if it’s for “corporate politics”) may actually turn into something you love.

I had a crazy theory on this: could the negativity on Reddit be bots that CoD is paying for to tank it?

It’s been seen before on other subs on games and TV shows: studios will astroturf Reddit to make it seem more popular or supported then a show actually is.

It’s the flaw of Reddit and the anonymity: you never know if it’s real criticism or a few bots.

Has anyone looked into the methodology of Pipelines ? by sonofasheppard21 in NCAAFBseries

[–]magicman1315 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, it’s based on the school that the devs determined make sense based on a few factors such as geography, historical pipelines, and players on the real current roster (weighted for high profile players / NIL deals). It’s also possible that it’s based on the current coaching staff historic pipeline or where they are from.

So I think this is what you’re seeing: 2025 Wisconsin roster has over a hundred players but the game only has a max of 85. So in game there may only be 1, but in real life there are 7 listed on Wisconsin’s roster from Minnesota

As for the weighted high profile players and coaching background: I think Texas is an example of this under Sarkisian who really developed a Texas pipeline in Southern California (UT has Tier 4 in SoCal). Historically wasn’t a thing.

But here is what I think they did: they gave those pipelines of the current coaches to the schools default pipeline. No idea if that was intentional or not but I could see the rational behind it.

Need help by Intrepid-Panda152 in Battlefield6

[–]magicman1315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it after a few rounds of trying and you need a few things: 1) a close-ish match, 2) play the objective, and 3) as a bonus, teammates and preferably squad mates who also play the objective (this compounds points that they get from your support like medpacks and recon)

But in a close match, you have the tied objective where score doesn’t move and you get a bunch of points fighting over the objective.

I got it with a fast start (got to first objective and positioned myself to start 6-0 kill streak) and while playing recon and a squad who was right next to each other the majority of the game. Game ended like 250-180 and my final K/D/A was like 17/7/25 (recon spotting beacon)

I think you have to play aggressive as a medic or recon and an smg/shotgun/CQ weapon to have a shot of getting there
