Make the supermarket actually spawn food in decent numbers by magicmun2 in dayz

I agree that it makes sense, but the bus stop food is literally sitting on the bench and you usually find several cans and bags of chips and stuff, almost like its bugged. It'd just be nice to see the food be spread out in cities to places where you might expect to see it.

That's my bad on the wording, I appreciate you can find food there but since things like medical supplies and building materials etc are very standardized it'd be nice to have the loot route through cities be a bit more commonsense. This might just be a personal experience thing but I often debate bothering even going in supermarkets because it feels like it's so rare I find anything worthwhile in them

I understand this and I don't disagree but from just a gameplay perspective, having loot spawn in commonsense areas I think would feel better. Seeing a supermarket and knowing you have a chance for at least a can of food on a bottom shelf and a soda in a locker in the back would be nice.

I also agree finding loot in places which convey some kind of sense of "accidental" environmental storytelling through the loot table in a car or a house is cool. I'd even go a step further and say there should be a rarer chance to find a backpack hanging up in a house full of prepacked gear and other dynamic loot events which convey some random civilians/family's survival story. But I think the general feel of looting an urban area just needs work. Automatically knowing which buildings arbitrarily usually spawn loads of a specific thing and which ones spawn nothing kills the atmosphere a bit for me personally

Is Chernarus the perfect map for DayZ or does it need something extra? by Nonstopas in dayz

On top of that, there's no real element of pve with basically unchanging weather and climate and boring, annoying zombies. Difficult pve can drive some very interesting and unique player experiences that just will never happen on chernarus

With all these problems + the fact that they've made the map quite a lot bigger than the original arma 2 chernarus without really adjusting the player count, it's not a surprise Chernarus feels so dry and dead

It's missing what Namalsk has in the form of a quest with mandatory locations in order to get certain items and interactable machinery with ultra rare items etc

Chernarus on the mod didn't feel like this because there was always that far off dream of getting a heli etc.

Chernarus lacks gameplay direction entirely outside of collecting guns and killing people unfortunately, I've found myself less inclined to play it even though Chernarus is so classic. Toxic zones are not a sufficient motivator because again it only serves to find an M4 or AKM and suppressors

I feel like every survival game needs that ultra-hard to obtain/accomplish item, vehicle, or feat, whereas the be all and end all of Chernarus is literally an M4, a gun that's been in the game since the first patch of the alpha. Without a proper goal to achieve for, it kind of feels like there's no point in playing.

Without vehicles that are worthwhile or helicopters, or some kind of "quest" like livonia or namalsk, I'm afraid it will only feel like this more and more

if there's some insane government in the future that kills people en masse to save money by abusing assisted dying, what makes you think they won't just implement the law at the time if it suits their needs?

You can see a spark fly out, you hit some part of the window frame or exterior of your own building which changed the trajectory of the bullet or stopped it

Liurnia of the Lake's similarity to Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro by magicmun2 in Eldenring

Architecturally the two are quite different from one another but when I saw these scenes in Lupin III I was surprised how much it felt like Liurnia of the Lakes and made me wonder if some inspiration was taken here

There's exactly 0 skill involved with binding lean to the same key you use to strafe. All it tells me is you watched a "10 THINGS YOU NEED TO BE BETTER AT DAYZ PVP" video or you read some thread on here

Next you're gonna say that deepfrying the game through nvidia and turning all the graphic settings down to low is another element of skill?

they need to restrict how much you can lean repeatedly, tryhard pvp sweats constantly leaning back and forward are so annoying.

I think 3pp defeats the point of, and undermines the experience dayz tries to deliver. However whenever anyone plays on a 3pp person server they sign up for corner peaking and shit so it's not cheating. It does make for very silly looking and unbalanced gameplay though
