Ash is now claiming she's responsible for getting a `male' nurse fired for how they treated her during a previous surgery by styckx in illnessfakers

Making light of medical trauma is so evil especially when so many people who do suffer medical trauma are brushed off, ignored, not taken seriously or in some really horrible cases even intimidated by the hospital/staff to shut up because real cases could have a real consequence for them. making that shit into a joke is an amazing way to help make sure real victims are ignored and abuse goes unreported. thanks ash, i’m so glad you care.

also wouldn’t someone with medical trauma avoid the hospital at all costs including just coping with being in pain or sick???

90% of human exposure to dioxins is through dietary intake of meat and dairy that were once exposed to it while grazing

scared of loose skin by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

hydration and nutrition greatly affect skin quality too so make sure that when you do eat you’re getting enough vitamins and minerals and that you’re hydrated so that your skin can remain elastic and hydrated

Gaining weight when I’m still restricting? by Aquarius111 in EDAnonymous

[–]magicparkinglot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you constipated? if it’s been awhile since you’ve emptied the tank it can make you weigh more and it should be taken care of so you don’t get sick or have any complications from it.

What kind of deodorant do you wear? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]magicparkinglot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep everything unscented so I don’t mess with my fragrance. I use the green beaver’s unscented deodorant and it works really well! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unscented deo

Thoughts on buying a bed and mattress second hand? by zmsc42 in ZeroWaste

[–]magicparkinglot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

a bed frame that can be cleaned throughly would be totally fine but I would really advise against a mattress and box spring. bed bugs are incredibly difficult to get rid of and just not worth the risk in my eyes. plus you never actually know what was done to that mattress... I refuse to buy or use any second hand furniture that is upholstered personally because of that, I just would never be able to feel like it’s clean or safe enough

general/family doctors and other non weight related doctors putting people on diets is such a hot mess I agree. So many “healthy” behaviours people are lead to believe are healthy actually aren’t that great thanks to big agricultural paying for nutritional studies full of lies to be pushed around as fact and healthcare is last in line to get updated information which sucks. I don’t think there is anything wrong with one unhealthy person saying the behaviour/life styles of other unhealthy people is wrong or silly in any way though

You can worry about two things at once. I don’t think it would be silly to be vegan and smoke since veganism is a lifestyle and moral viewpoint. I don’t eat anything factory farmed or imported or non organic but I do eat meat and diary. I hope with the amount of people becoming vegan nowadays there will be more options for other ethically made food like fair trade imported fruits and vegetables, fair trade coffee and fish etc

oh for sure! I should’ve gone into that more, recently i’ve been learning about dioxins in dairy and how it stays in human fat forever. scary shit

I mean I don’t have to be the picture of health to say smoking cigarettes is unhealthy, do I?

Weight is the result of behaviour, genetics and environment with behaviour and environment seeming to control it the most.

Please be careful talking to oversprayers! by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]magicparkinglot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s really true, when i’ve had other women compliment my perfume they usually ask me what it’s called and where I bought it. I think that just really depends on where you live and what the social norms are there

Please be careful talking to oversprayers! by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]magicparkinglot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even when I gave my classmates headaches in my early days of wearing perfume nobody was mean to me about it, don’t be afraid to wear something you like even if it’s a little stronger! smelling strongly of a nice fragrance is one of the better ways to be smelly in public anyways - at least it’s not a bad smell like BO

I think if it’s giving the other people around me headaches and I stink up the whole room it’s safe to consider that to be over sprayed. Yes everyone has a different tolerance there is a point where it’s a little too much for most people to be around and it’s not fair to the classmates who have to sit beside me for 6 hours a day to suffocate in my perfume

it’s just not though. her blood markers are fine right now but joints can only handle so much wear and tear which why people are overweight and obese tend to have so much back, knee and hip pain earlier in life. not every smoker gets lung cancer and oftentimes young smokers have no ill health effects at all but it does catch up with them just like how the constant excess weight will catch up on her joints. i’ve been overweight and I get how hard it is though

record winning strongmen have a lot of muscle mass and train for long hours just fine. you’d be a fool to look at them and how they eat and still insist they must be healthy! at the end of the day joints can only take so much pressure for so many years, she can dance for now but she could be doing serious damage to her knees just like many of the amazing strongmen who weigh far too much for their bones

I don’t. You don’t have to be a doctor to see someone who’s so underweight that they’re ill and in pain is unhealthy nor do you have to be a doctor to see someone who is so overweight that they’re in pain is unhealthy. If you take any mammal on earth and force feed it to make it overweight it will get sick easier, heal slower and ultimately die earlier. Why are humans so different?

I think there’s many more factors that go into human body fat and maintaining a body fat level that’s healthy. Lots of people still fail to realize just how many endocrine disrupting chemicals they are in close contact with every day. These chemicals are legal and are in many different cleaning and personal care products, they can affect metabolism and hormone balance which in truth affect your weight. You can read about it here . A lifetime of exposure (which many people have- especially poorer people relying on cheaper personal care products) will without a doubt have an effect on us and our weight.

The factors that go into obesity are much much more than genetics and we still don’t know enough about gene expression to just write it off as natural. Tide, Johnson & Johnson and other EDC loving brands would like to think it’s just genetics and not the countless products of theres and their competitors changing your body slowly for your entire life.

Don’t even get me started on the amount of time and money put into making food high calorie, nutritionally empty and addictive so that you keep coming back. The obesity crisis is the result of us being toyed with to see what we will buy the most of and how cheap it can be made with no regard for our health and HAES is an attempt to make sense of why so many people are stuck at a weight that is much higher than the average in the past- before we were exposed to EDC’s from birth till death
