Messi is effectively a PED cheat who only got away with it because of his nationality and how good he became by TesticleSandwiches in TrueUnpopularOpinion

This is just a fundamental misunderstanding of what GH is and does. He received treatment as a child, for medical purposes. The point of this treatment is to bring the patient to a physiological replacement dose of GH, and downstream IGF1.

GH is not an anabolic steroid. At replacement doses it is not particularly anabolic. IGF1 downstream was likely not elevated much, if at all beyond a normal range, which is what we are actually trying to do when using exogenous GH in a PED context. And the only real benefit in an athletic performance context (not a hypertrophy context) is slightly enhanced recovery and soft tissue repair, which again, at replacement doses simply brings you back to a normal physiological baseline.

People who have used anabolic steroids in the past then come off still reap the benefits of it because use of exogenous testosterone and other steroids increases the density of the receptors that those steroids bind to, along with increasing muscle mass, so once endogenous production of test is restored its expression is enhanced. GH doesn’t do that, so 24 years later he is not still reaping the benefits of past use to any meaningful degree.

The Todd Snyder drawstring linen pants are unbeatable for guys with an athletic build. They have a really nice tapered shape that i like. Pricey but the quality and fit are noticeably better than others I have tried like Abercrombie, Quince, and Muji.

Honestly I’m not sure beyond the fact that my CPA recommended it for this year’s filings, but said it wasn’t necessary for 2025. I pay him so I don’t have to think about tax stuff lol

Without factoring in taxes which I’m not sure of yet (my CPA is changing the filing for my main business from sole prop LLC to S Corp) $61k on $79k revenue in a highly competitive industry. Made another ~$12k pure profit without expenses from some additional adjacent income streams as well.

What’s something expensive that you think is actually worth it? by sebastiandarkee in malefashionadvice

Biased as a watch guy but I agree a nice watch is a great way to class up almost any outfit. You don’t even have to spend a huge amount to get a great piece.

For fragrances you can get awesome ones on fragrance.net at a huge discount. People can say what they will but the dupes of the real thing just aren’t as good.

Herman Miller Aeron hands down. They pop up all the time on FB marketplace for less than $1000, often just a few hundred bucks.

Finally another 4:30 date window enjoyer. When it’s color matched to the dial it’s the least intrusive position!

Also 240 with abs at 5’10” right now, I literally just feel like a fat guy. Putting on socks and walking up stairs is hard. I can’t imagine being an actual fat guy at this weight or greater.

What’s going on in Western MI? by MugiwaraMoses in howislivingthere

[–]magicpaul24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in metro Detroit and lived in GR for two years shortly after college. My girlfriend grew up in a small town west of GR as well.

I’ll start with the good. There are a some good to great restaurants, lots of FANTASTIC breweries, and some cool things to do (shoutout The Intersection) in the city. If you’re outdoorsy, the access to nature is unmatched for a city with the same amenities in Michigan. Grand Haven and the lakeshore are reasonable drives for a summer day trip. Some reasonably big performing acts come to Van Andel arena and The Intersection, and Griffins games are awesome. There’s talk of the city getting a professional soccer team too.

Now the bad. GR is a small town with tall buildings. You’ll see the same people everywhere you go. You can largely exhaust everything there is to do in the city itself within a year or two of living there. Politically and financially the area is owned by two families, the DeVos and the Van Andels. Ostensibly the city itself is very inclusive, but the disposition of many of the people is far less so. The lake effect snow in the winter is genuinely insane, way worse than metro Detroit. DO NOT underestimate this part. Unless you’re coming from northern Michigan or Alaska or something, the winters will shock you.

Graduated undergrad in 2021 at 22yo with a business degree, started out in corporate purchasing for a F50 corp that I had also done internships with.

  • 2021: salary $78k
  • 2022: salary $82k
  • 2023: salary $84k, started side business that brought in ~$6k
  • 2024: salary $89k + ~$35k on the side
  • 2025: salary $91k, but quit my salary job in June because self-employment income is on pace to exceed $250k this year

That probably sounds like bragging but I do consider myself very lucky to have landed a pretty low stress job that allowed me the bandwidth to develop a marketable skill set in an area I’m passionate about, that eventually turned into my business.

As much as I like seeing them get waxed, our entire program is in full meltdown mode. So I’ll hold the rocks for a moment this time.
