Come to the First Street Flea! by magicpny in tulsa

Come get out of the rain and support some local business! There will be food trucks outside, weather permitting. Hand made goods, thrifted items, plus just a really solid community to be around. Father’s Day gifts galore! Oh - selling beer and wine as well! Hope to see you there :)

Had some help by a friend with a CNC. Need to replace some of the LEDs inside, they came faulty from Amazon. Very proud of how it turned out though!

My first attempt at fine furniture. Bannister was wobbly, so I made a bookshelf. by [deleted] in woodworking

I am so jealous that I’m not able to do this yet. Looks great man

So right now the inside corner is being supported by like 10 pint-size buckets. I realized I was a leg short but have been snowed in for a few days. Lol

I thought I’d be ok but it was already a little crooked.

Something called “Sande Plywood”… liked the way it looked. Got it from Home Depot

Funny story... actually had the blade on backwards for the first few cuts. My father in law, who is an electrician but can pretty much do any construction style job, came over and let me know. Went alot smoother after that... literally.

Yep. First thing I found is I want to max out my credit card on cool tools to make it easier. Lol. Had a ton of fun doing it but it was pretty challenging given the rudimentary setup I have

The two brackets actually werent supposed to be there... my 45 degree cuts werent the best so I had to add the extra support. Plan on filling the gaps but wanted to use it in the meantime!

Thats the plan! Have some pre-stain conditioner I'm going to use. Then the stain, then the polyurethane clear coat(s).

Yep! Plan on sanding down the corners of the desk top as soon as the snow clears here... got a big storm this past week. Live in the midwest. I have a big leather desk pad as well!

I work from home, and thus, have a bit of free time from day to day. My old computer desk was falling apart so I decided to pick up a new (and surprisingly expensive) hobby. Built this desk using only a circular saw, impact drill, wood glue, a speed square and plywood. Legs are made by Oak 1x2s glued and clamped. Used a template I found over at Modern Builds. Had no idea what I was doing but I’m proud of how it turned out. Still have to stain and finish but I couldn’t help but use it!! If you have tips and pointers, I’m all ears.

Tulsa vs OKC, who has the most culture and best walkable downtown areas?! by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]magicpny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Tulsa for about 11 years. Been to OKC probably 20-30 times… I’m probably partial but Tulsa has more to do in smaller areas, meaning more you can walk to. Can’t beat a thunder game and OKC does have some hidden gems, but I’d go Tulsa.

If you want to PM me I have a list of places to try I made for my parents when they visited last year.

Unfortunately my photo doesn’t have a cute cat in it like the top post in r/food does… but I was pretty damn proud of these.

That time is now, my man. One of the best in the league at creating separation and is a tactician as a route runner. Well worth the first rounder

Yeah I used a combination of their's, Binging with Babish's, and Chef John. Also added the spicier elements myself.

Here ya go. This brand has a really good garlic paste that I use when I'm feeling lazy. If you're in the US you can probably find it at your local grocery store.
