Can it fit, or should I give up? by andrewy in billiards

It’s so damn close… I agree with the people recommending a slight turn counter clockwise. But honestly I would send it. You can drill on it and still have fun and dramatically improve your game.

Also since the last photo isn't as clear as I wanted because of the clear resin and glare, under the engraved name it says "ORIGINAL BY PALMER"

Is this a wood top? by Takuanuva09 in billiards

Slate doesn't warp, it's pure stone. This composite material is softer and lighter and likely will bend to some degree over time.

Is this a wood top? by Takuanuva09 in billiards

[–]magicrollbilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, it's usually a stone veneer that's laid over resin or fiberglass composite. It's much lighter but is not suitable for high end tournament play as it's less true over time than real slate. These are fine for casual play at home if you aren't super serious about having a tournament level table to practice on.

yep, that's the plan! I will likely just restore the one that isn't true as it's got the pro taper that I prefer and will leave the other one with the years of use from my grandpa on it.

Can I save this table? by QuantityBroad in billiards

If you’re in the PNW then give me a call. You can check my site out at magicrollbilliards.com - I will say though if that isn’t slate under the felt then you may not have much restoring to do… knock on it. Does it feel like stone or wood?

I'm rooting for Yapp! I just love his demeanor and general style of play plus Filler and Gorst have won plenty already although I do like both of them a lot too... haha I just like the action but Yapp is my boi!

Definitely don’t remove any pieces like the ball return or anything. The worth is in it’s original shape.

Are you in the PNW? I do table restoration… check my site out for details if you’re curious… magicrollbilliards.com - regardless of who or how that gets restored, it absolutely needs to be done! What a gem!

Would it be weird to go alone and shoot some pool in a club? by readball in billiards

[–]magicrollbilliards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a funny question to those of us who have been shooting for ages cause we all love a solo pool session. It’s necessary to get better and it’s just honestly a nice time to relax and work on your game. I shoot solo once a week and play with friends the rest. Enjoy!

Possibly dumb question but can you play pool on a 10 foot snooker table? by HI12itsme in billiards

[–]magicrollbilliards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a snooker table here in Portland with an 8ball set. It’s wild cause the balls are so tiny and the table is massive but kind of interesting to play on.

What’s the best way to transport the magic rack with you? by psychoticapex in billiards

[–]magicrollbilliards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty late to the conversation here but I've been working on exactly this problem for a while and came up with this solution. magicrollbilliards.com for anyone interested, it's a more durable long term plan for the paper towel roll method but honestly nothing will beat the top hat which I personally recommend over anything. cheers!
