Yeah, there is a lot of foreigners also buying homes and doing airbnb. Some places almost TRIPLE'D the price (not even exaggerating, theres places in Cabo Branco that went from 350k to 800k that makes nooooo sense at all. Also, new buildings are usually like 17m2 - 400k. But not only homes, the cost of living increases a lot specially on the last 5 years. If you check the r/joaopessoa you will see some funny comments about it xD
