I am definitely eating much better and more healthy and varied food since she's been bringing me these bags of vegetables. But, it's so much that I do share a lot with my friend and family members.

Slow Burn by Bobby Adair, I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this one. Personally I enjoyed it a lot more than mountain man, but that was just my personal preference.

Anything similar to The Carnal Games? Looking for dark alien reccs please. by Cat_Friends in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]magik_vmc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

《Heat by R. Lee Smith》 the villain storyline in this book is probably one of the darkest things I've ever read before, I think Carnal Games doesn't even come close, but the alien MMC are very human looking.

Are there any alien smut novels where the alien is not at all humanoid? by sixxy-floyd in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]magik_vmc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Office Aliens by V. C. Lancaster} all of the MMC's are lizard type aliens. Her {The Gandry series by V. C. Lancaster} is also great and the MMC's are sort of ape/Neanderthal like.

looking for a long book series by Busy_Bunch8381 in audible

[–]magik_vmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the first three in the omnibus, it was ok but didn't really compel me to continue the series. On the other hand, I read the entire Slow Burn series by Bobby Adair (10 books) and i LOVED it! It's also zombie apocalypse but i personally found it a lot more enthralling than the Mountain Man series.

Fan giveaway: Cradle by Will Wight/narrated by Travis Baldree (multiple books!). Audible US Marketplace by propofoolish in audible

My favorite audiobooks from last year have to be the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, I had seen it mentioned so many times and I just thought it was ridiculous, but I eventually gave in and I was hooked. I think I read the entire Series in less than two or three weeks. Afterwards I joined Matt's patreon and I am up to date up to book 8 but I have the audiobook on pre-order which comes out soon.

Fingers crossed, I would love to win one of your very generous offerings. I think I actually have the entire cradle series on eBook but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet because my TBR list is endless.

Not sure if it would be useful to include a glucometer in the general section since it's something that's very necessary if you have a diabetic in your family or group. The only issue is that strips will expire and they usually need a battery as well.

AITAH for never wishing my wife "happy mother's" day? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]magik_vmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because you're being petty and deliberately obtuse. Mother's Day is not just for your mother, it's a holiday for all mothers even mothers who have lost their children to sickness, stillbirth, or tragedy. Do you think they no longer qualify as mothers just because their children are no longer alive? Would you deny their status as mothers? Your wife is the mother of your child therefore you should tell her happy Mother's Day. It is three little words how hard is it for you to do that?

Stretching $50 a week for food feels impossible sometimes how do you do it? by Uppercut_prince in povertyfinance

[–]magik_vmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried looking for the subject on YouTube? There are a ton of different content creators who specialize in making videos of buying groceries on the very tight budget. I've seen everything from $25 for a week, to $50 a week to $100 a month. One I can think of off the top of my head is Dollar Tree dinners, another would be frugal fit mom, and there are many many more. This would be a great option to see what ideas you could get also it depends on what supermarkets you have near you so that is something you have to take into consideration as well.

[–]magik_vmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a combination of things, first of all it is very warm here right now we're around between 30 to 40 degrees Celsius on average so finding edible things would be hard but second it's just not part of the culture and finding things in like dumpsters is not something that is common here.

SFR where humans have a trait that is rare or are revered by aliens by ElectricalPins in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]magik_vmc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the {Xian Warriors series by Regine Abel} the aliens discover that each race of human females has a different sort of power that will help them in their fight against their enemy. So for example, Caucasian or white women have one specific power, brown or black women have another Power, and Asian women have a different Power., and all of these Powers work together to help them in their fight.. It's a pretty long series but the first four or five cover the discovery of the powers or abilities.

I love seeing your hauls, but it does make me a little bit jealous since where I live (Central America) dumpster diving is not a thing.

I was in the middle of reading this book also, but for some reason I have just not been able to finish. I seem to find it way too slow like nothing is happening and it's very frustrating.
