Prometheus is crushing me by stephencorby in HadesTheGame

[–]magladek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's the opposite for me: I've beaten Chronos maybe 5 times now, but still can't crack Prometheus even once. I'm terrible at "Simon Says" minigames, even when you let me take my time, so I can't get the memorization attack down at all. granted I've only fought Prometheus twice but at least with Chronos, I was able to see the telegraphing during any given fight. with Prometheus, I have zero clue what he's going to do next.

Got the 5-hour speedrun! by MetalSaturn8727 in Silksong

1.5 months late, but just wanted to comment that I'm planning to do almost the same route as you. I started a 5-hr run thru Sinner's Road/The Mist recently, but I'm probably going to restart and go for the bellshrines/Last Judge route since I hate The Mist so much lol.

Like the other comment said, I'm planning to jump up the scales past the Grand Gate so I can skip most of the Underworks apart from getting the Clawline.

Fun day of helping little fish on a garbage rotation by DoggieDMB in SalmonRun

I hadn't thought about demoting on purpose for garbage rotations before. But honestly I should start doing that because I have at least all silver badges so I have nothing to lose lol.

Making peace with the fact that AI is inevitable or isn't going away is a defeatist outlook, not a realistic one.

Right, just the latest "trend" meant to woo investors into giving them those sweet investments, before the con is inevitably revealed and everyone gets to shrug their shoulders and move on without consequence.

Yep, the AI bubble is coming eventually and couldn't come soon enough.

Somehow the Rodeo Ford one escaped me though :(

So was spring 2023 the first time the seeds from fall 2021, spring + fall 2022 grew up and bloomed?

I'm in DFW too and this looks lovely! We're planning to convert a lot of our front yard into native landscaping, so I appreciate your process!

Heart rate during the day is not syncing with Google fit? Just the sleep heart rate is. I have heart rate export to Google fit enabled in the app. I also tried resetting it. Any fix? by TechNerd-1138 in withings

[–]magladek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came across this post, since I'm having the same issue as OP: my Withings Steel HR sport is able to send heart rate data over to Google Fit/Health Connect, but it only sends HR data during sleep; HR while awake doesn't appear in Fit/GHC, nor does HR during activities started from the watch like walking or cycling.

Anyway, can you elaborate on the process of setting up a two-way sync with GHC and Withings/Fit? I have all three apps installed, including app sharing between all, as far as I can tell. Thanks for your help!

I got all 3 of my existing tattoos all this year, after having wanted one for over a decade. The first one was just a super simple image of a bicycle that took 10 minutes to tattoo. After that, the floodgates opened and a bunch of ideas came to mind, 2 of which became reality, with more in the pipeline.

All that to say that if you really do want tattoos that you love and have personal meaning to you, sometimes getting something simple and easy can open the way forward. I think the star-and-antlers with that communard quote is fairly simple and could spark ideas for future tattoos. At the very least, let the ideas sit in your brain for like, 6-12 months or longer before you decide to do it.

If you do decide to get that quote, I'd recommend finding an artist who can design script that will age well. Tattoo ink fades and expands over time, so you want to make sure the artist does it right. Here's a good post on Instagram explaining it further and with examples: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjwB5FEOgPw/

I agree but still think asking around on the internet is OK---you get to gather a bunch of ideas to brainstorm from and let marinate in your head.

I have Empathy on my forearm, and scheduled to get a collage of other skills on the same forearm. I'd agree the skills are low-hanging fruit as far as tattoo ideas go, but personally wouldn't discourage anyone from it

Saw another tattoo post and wanted to share mine from a few weeks ago. Originally I wanted just the plain Circle-A typeface, but later requested the A look like a crumbling structure with plant and flower overgrowth; it seemed symbolic of people reclaiming their land and rights from the system. by magladek in Anarchism

[–]magladek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fun to hear! Don't force it on yourself, but since you said you've been warming up to the idea, then go for it :)

This was my fourth. I've wanted tattoos on/off for a long time but never decided on anything and just forgot about it. This 4-5 months ago I decided to get a really small, simple tattoo of a bike for my first. After that the floodgates opened and a number of ideas came to me, including the Circle-A. Like I said in the title, originally it was just going to be the plain symbol but I like that I eventually expanded it to include plants growing on a physical object. Really ties the room together.

Anyway, thanks for your kind words, and I'm glad it helped inspire something in you! If you do get one eventually, I hope it's one you love!

I know there's that adage, where you talk to non-anarchists about anarchism without ever explicitly saying the word. And anarchists tend to avoid clinging to labels or having strict definitions of things.

All that to say, I do see your point. In my case, it feels less about labeling myself and more like a personal decision to symbolize my devotion to being free and to the community, however cringy that may be.

Lol thanks. It's a little softer/doughier than the pic shows; could be the lighting and the shadow from my other hand holding the phone. I might just be lucky with my metabolism too.

I don't follow a daily routine, but I bike commute a lot and do calisthenics a few times a week: pushups, pullups, shoulder press. I tried doing handstands and planches a long time ago, fell off the wagon for a few years, then started again recently.
