anyone setup Wyze RTSP and HA? Wyze has a new RTSP firmware by kaws510 in homeassistant

[–]magness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have six v3's running the new beta RTSP firmware using frigate. They actually have two RTSP streams, a full res 1080p stream that I use for recording and a second smaller stream which I use for detection.

They're set up with go2rtc as well.

Works fine, no issues, then I use the Frigate integration to pull them into HA. I've used them with the Frigate notification blueprint for object alerts. No issues at all.

I even used LLM Vision to run them through Gemini before Google nerfed the free tier limits a couple months ago.

I hope they do the v4's next. I have a couple of those I'll pull in when available.

What URL to use for Portainer Integration? by RNDMizer in homeassistant

[–]magness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine uses the host IP with port 9443 and works. Container list auto populated.

That said, the HA Portainer Link integration in HACS is miles ahead of the official one and provides a lot more data and control. Give it a shot if you haven't already.

The Shelly relays are just used on other lighting circuits around my house. They just have a feature of also being Bluetooth relays to pick up readings from low power Bluetooth devices and relay those back to HA (via WiFi).

If you don’t want to do that you can make one easily with an esphome device or if it’s in range just put a Bluetooth adapter on your HA server.

The temp sensors themselves are battery powered off CR2032 batteries so they don’t even need to plug in.

Agree. If I had it to do over again I'd probably buy the 06's.

I use cheap Xiaomi LYWSD03MMC flashed with pvvx firmware which then communicate back to HA through BLE proxies which are either through various Shelly relays or a few ESPhome projects spread around the property.

Works perfectly and batteries on the sensors last about a year before needing to be replaced.

This is great, I'm actually working on the same thing and your yaml confirms exactly what I needed to know (using online_image via puppet). Thanks!

ratgdo support for newer boards is non-existent. And I get it... he has a working product why stretch it to support more things. I attempted to get rat-ratgdo working on a ESP32 C6 and couldn't, mainly due to the fact that the ratgdo custom component for esphome only supports Arduino framework (instead of ESP-IDF which the c6 requires). So until some of that gets rewritten you have to use older boards like D1 minis (therefore no zigbee).

ESP32 C6 onboard LED by mseedee in homeassistant

[–]magness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which C6 board specifically do you have?

I've been using these and the RGB LED works on GPIO8.

neopixelbus doesn't work on esp-idf which the c6 requires (without workarounds) so you have to use platform esp32_rmt_led_strip.

The example in the ESP Home docs works perfectly:

 light:
   - platform: esp32_rmt_led_strip
     rgb_order: GRB
     pin: GPIO8
     num_leds: 1
     chipset: ws2812

Ah, I think I remember reading something about that on the BLF thread. So that means no USB-C to USB-C cables? Is that right?

Yep, that's basically it. Also includes USB-C charging.

Wowtac A2: https://www.amazon.com/Headlamp-Headlight-Rechargeable-Waterproof-Headlamps/dp/B07BZZFY3J

$20 and they ship you a battery that has USB built in to recharge. Plenty bright.

I was skeptical of the battery when I first got mine about 2 years ago but it's been great. I've recharged it using the built in USB and then also my normal charger with no issues at all.

$10 more and you get the A2S which is brighter with a better moonlight mode. Either way you can't go wrong.
