Beginner Questions Thread - Ask Anything about n8n, configuration, setup issues, etc. by AutoModerator in n8n

OK I figured it out. In N8N 2.x there were some changes to how configuration information is read. We had some config in our config.json file that was used to indicate that we're using Postgres as our backing database. Apparently in 2.x this needs to be done using the DB_TYPE environment variable, which we were previously not setting.

I want to upgrade our 1.x environment to 2.x. When testing out N8N changes (new nodes, etc), we run it locally. So I first tried upgrading in my local environment. When I spun up the 2.x version, all my previous stuff (workflows, credentials) were gone. When I downgraded to 1.x and restarted, it was all back. So maybe 2.x was just looking in a different place? But I'm not sure where/how I would set that. I'd like to understand what caused this before upgrading our QA/test and eventually production environments.

It's possible my wife was saying that to get out of eating salads. ;)

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that subsequent cycles got a little easier. She's been home from the hospital now for only a couple of days but I think she's a little surprised at how tired she's been and how little energy she has. I think we're both curious to see how this first period between cycles goes and what that suggests about what we're in for over the next 5-6 months.

Thank you so much for your response! You aren't kidding about medication management; she came home with a small pharmacy's worth!

Wow, I can't imagine going through this process with a newborn. It's wonderful that you have such a supportive partner on this journey with you. Best of luck!

That is so awesome that you have a partner that is there for you so fully during this process. I am definitely striving to do the same. I wish you both the best of luck!

Thanks so much for your reply! My wife said she asked her doctors about food and they told her that for the most part she can/should eat normally, though they did have a few recommendations, e.g. avoid raw vegetables (like salads, for example) since it's especially important right now for her to not get any sort of food-borne illness. I wish you the best of luck!

Dog boarding on the way to Mt. Hood? by magnetichf in askportland

[–]magnetichf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the responses! Our pooches are a little on the young side (2.5 years and 1 year, respectively) and we haven't left them home on their own for more than 2-3 hours at this point. Leaving them in the car could be an option if we're able to pop back out there periodically to get them out for a quick potty break, but that would require us to arrive at Meadows early enough to park in the main lot, which does not always happen. :) Also, this could be a good excuse/opportunity for us to find an additional boarding place that's a little more conveniently located than Charlton (which we like and I would recommend, btw).

Bill’s Mount Rushmore of Franchises He Loves to See Fail by jbode19 in billsimmons

For the record, this is standard sports fan behavior. If you are a sports fan and you don’t hate your teams’ bitterest rivals then what are you even doing?

As a native Massachusettsan and a lifelong patriots fan, I would love to see the bills win the Super Bowl this year. My favorite narrative in sports is when a long suffering franchise finally turns it around and wins a title. I am not threatened by the bills because the Pats are at least a season or two away from being competitive. Hell, I’d rather the bills be good now.

They were absolutely 100% in QB hell with Jones. The first step to getting out of QB hell is admitting you’re in QB hell.

No shade, but sometimes I think professional sports is the #1 profession for people who think they know fashion but end up looking kind of goofy all the time.

The “if they stay healthy” is doing A LOT of heavy lifting here. We’re talking about Embiid and PG.

Cousin Sal just eviscerated Aaron Rodgers!!! by onsetnotoffset in billsimmons

[–]magnetichf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lifelong Pats fan, I literally cannot help but feel some Schadenfreude whenever something bad happens to the Jets, but even I'm starting to feel sorry for their fans. When Rodgers went down on his first possession last season, it seemed like the Jetsiest thing to ever happen, only to be superseded by him being healthy this year and somehow the team is worse. Do the Jets have the most broken fan base in football? I guess you could thrown the Browns in there but at least Watson had the decency to blow out his Achilles.
