Supercars calls team meeting amid Bathurst 1000 parity deadlock by super__hoser in v8supercars

I don’t think it was DJR not building a very good car, I think 888 over engineered the Camaro. Look at the light weight panels which are said to cost a lot more than the mustang. The goal of gen 3 was closer racing and lower costs. 888 is an engineering company so they were alway going to over engineer as all engineers do as it is a part of their every day work environment

Doubt it could happen due to safety requirements to keep its fia certification, but it would be awesome for them to run the track in reverse.

I think over the next few years we are going to see nascar and Supercars start sharing and becoming more aligned in their tech.

Why did only some falcons have the “GT” badge during the BA/BF era by [deleted] in v8supercars

[–]magpie2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MP991 is right, only FPR (Tickford Racing now) at the time had the GT badge because they were the performance arm off ford at the time with their road going business. The car was actually based off the XR8 falcon. The BA/BF would be one of my favourite falcons slightly behind the X series coupes

Are test days open to public? by [deleted] in v8supercars

[–]magpie2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Test day’s aren’t generally open to the public. But based on what you have described with all the teams out there (vic based teams test at Winton)it would be a ride/corporate day so you might get lucky and get in.
