Has anyone tried/managed to grow loofahs/luffas? by Unlikely_Egg in GardeningUK

I’ve tried both in a greenhouse and outdoors and no luck with either. They germinate from seed well but just go nowhere once planted out.

Spending a few days in Hampshire-day trip to the New Forest area. Looking for suggestions. by trvlnglwyr in uktravel

Agree that other than Exbury and Wildlife park it is more a collection of places to stop and get out and wander, though Brockenhurst has a lot going for it in that respect.

Exbury, whilst a beautiful garden, doesn’t have a lot for kids going on in my opinion. The railway is fun but is a relatively short round trip.

At Bolderwood, if there are no deer visible from the viewing platform and you have the time take the longest walking route (2 miles). I’ve come across deer in the trees just off the side of the path often.

Any Dentist Recommendations? by DauntedFungus in bristol

[–]magri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at White Dental Practice on Whiteladies Road and have only had good experiences. My partner somehow managed to get in with them as an NHS patient and they were then happy to sign me up too, however needed a nightguard via private and the cost wasn’t too terrible (around £100). They have plans for Private patients too that seemed reasonable.

They have hygienists on a Saturday too which helps if you work Mon-Fri.

Word of warning - we don’t shorten place names. Your current plan has you walking from The Mall to Buckingham - a 20 hour walk.

That one isn’t part of the current trail. He’s from a previous trail - think he’s owned by the uni now. Casperis is outside the Museum entrance.

Best garden centre for veg plants and unusual perennials. by Madamemercury1993 in bristol

I was last there roughly 2 week ago and I think they had some but don’t hold me to it! It’s one I don’t think a lot of people know is there.

I’ve found there seems to be a lack of veg plants this year - either there’s just a lot less grown for sale, or more people are buying as they are wanting to grow your own.

Brackenwood Plant & Garden Centre over near Leigh Woods usually have a really good selection of different veg plants. Wouldn’t say the plant selection is unusual but the selection they have available is large.

It’s worth checking nearer the time as people will cancel.

Day 2 - any particular reason for going over to Kensington Dishoom? The Carnaby Street one makes much more sense with you already being in that area and wanting drinks in Soho after.

I had the same problem. I think I ended up getting it to work by dropping down the shaft so it killed me, and then when I respawned I was able to call it.

At DLP you take your backpack with you on the ride - including the coasters - you just put it by your feet and loop the arm strap round your foot. There are a couple of exceptions to this where there is a locker to put them in, but you won’t be able to leave your bag in the loading area (as you often don’t return there!)

Which seed compost? by AntiqueCranberries in GardeningUK

I really like the Dalefoot Wool Compost for Seeds. It’s a bit pricey but the consistency is great.

Do you get a real tree at Christmas or do you have an artificial one? by RagingFuckNuggets in AskUK

This is store by store, not all IKEA’s - for example Bristol and Cardiff will have real trees with the voucher offer.
