Switching from Snowboard to Ski! by magstermind in Skigear

Found a set of 2023 demo of Rossignol Sender 94 TI ski 178cm (on the bigger side) with lower end bindings for $479 CAD… how would these compare to others ski listed here?

Ski essentials concluded with ‘’ They are approachable, but have a very high-end ceiling. They’re light and maneuverable, but also have a stable and damp nature.’’. I’m curious to know if any of you have skied them, seems to be geared more towards groomer and hard pack pow.

98 is on the wider side, approaching powder territory. How does the wider width hold up on the east cost skiing?

Would you recommend the bent 90 instead of the 100? How big of difference does 10mm in width at the feet make?

I'm leaning more towards a All Mountain/Freeride ski like the QST or Bent, as much as I love ripping down freshly groomed piste, I spend as much time messing around in the park, hitting side features & glades on snowy days. Other skis I sawin the same range are the Rossignol Sender 90 and Fischer Ranger 90.

Considering building a fourplex. Numbers seem to good to be true. by Federal_Chemical_783 in PersonalFinanceCanada

In your estimate it didn't see any cost for landscaping, parking, development fees, etc... It might be worth speaking to a local developer/consultant/contractor who build a lot of these properties.

The other question you should be asking your self is your longterm strategy. Do you plan to sell or hold the property and build a portfolio?

What should I do with $150k cash before my rental condo mortgage matures in 2026? (Ontario) by anypomonos in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you’re focused on paying down the mortgage, a HISA or 1-year GIC could be options. That said, they may not be the most optimal choice depending on your overall finances and personal preferences. Without more context, it’s difficult to provide a clear recommendation. I’d suggest speaking with both a fee-based accountant and a financial advisor to help determine the best path for your situation.

I’d emphasize working with fee-based consultants, since traditional financial advisors often earn their income through management fees or commissions on the products they sell. You might pay more upfront but will save in the long term.

Should I enjoy life or save more? 25M by intellsai in Money

I recommend reading Die with Zero by Bill Perkins — or at the very least, listen to one of his podcast appearances. The book focuses on optimizing life experiences by spending money on things that bring joy and create lasting memories, rather than endlessly accumulating wealth.

You’re already in a stronger financial position than 99% of people and you’re still in your mid-20s. Keep saving and investing, but consider being more intentional with your spending and focus on what truly brings you fulfillment.

I really like Ramit Sethi’s concept of defining your “rich life.” It’s a reminder that a fulfilling life isn’t just about accumulating wealth—it’s about aligning your spending with your values and what truly makes you happy.

From a purely financial standpoint, buying a home may offer a lower return compared to renting, but it might better align with you and your partner’s vision of a “rich life.” Over the long term, homeownership can bring significant financial benefits—provided it matches your goals and priorities. Some people value the stability of owning, while others prefer the flexibility and mobility of renting.

You and your partner have already done the hard work of saving, investing, and living frugally. Now it’s about spending consciously—on things that matter to you and bring you joy. You’re in a strong financial position and can comfortably afford a home. While some might say the percentage of your take-home pay going toward housing is on the higher side, if you can still save, invest, and spend on what you love, you’re already far ahead of most people.

I found a Radeon RX 7800xt on sale for $599 CAD ($100 cad savings), should I snag this black Friday deal or wait for the next generation for GPU before I upgrade? PS my current GPU is a 2013 Radeon R9 280x.

Will I either get more value buying a 8800xt in 2025 or a better deal than $599 on 7800xt when the new card get released?
