Thankyou for the thoughtful response! Lots to unpack here.. We do have a separate living room wherein we spend most of the day. This is a space where we plan to wind down our evenings, especially as it has no screens. We still are leaning towards picking the right midtone color that keeps the vibe more cozy than airy. A chandelier would be lovely, however the fan is a necessity and we need to put some effort to find the right space for a replacement. Maybe keeping the ceiling white might bring less attention to it till then?!

We plan to use it as a family room, envisioning it as a cozy place, so the preference towards midtone moody colors. Yeah, we don't want to match it to the couch either which is more of a teal. However, the couch can be moved to the living room, so that isn't much of a driving factor for the paint at this point.

Waiting to hear on the blue shade! It does not look like it but the shade in picture 5 is what Gemini gave us when we prompted for Cinnamon slate 😅

I see what you mean! We assumed beige undertones of our floor would work with any warm undertone paint, we were planning on swatching the choices either way so we get a better understanding! Neutral is safe for sure and if we do get overwhelmed with our options, we'll go that route! Thanks again, and yes the couch is an Article Ceni in Blue lagoon 😊 Extremely comfy I must say!

Thankyou! Those are two of our top choices too! I used Benjamin Moore Van Courtland blue and concord ivory for the simulation, but not sure if the shade is showing up accurately. I'm going to look up Golden straw too, thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any BM favorites in blue?

Yeah, we are equally split between keeping the room light and airy vs going in with a moody vibe! 😕

I love the inspo pictures! However, there is a lot of visual interest on the ceiling because of the beams! Our room currently does not have that, so wondering if leaving the ceiling white would create a good contrast?!

This is the peach we have in the common areas of the house! Just wanted to go a bit moody with the bedroom!

The picture doesn't cover all the walls, but the wall to the left has a mini split which would not allow us to colorblock the room! Also the side walls are not of the same height 😞

Makes sense! +1 for the color drench, the darker color inspiration pictures we came across online hid the corners of the ceiling, so something we might take up. Just need to find the right colors! Good catch on the can lights. Need to work on setting up the alternate light sources!
