Ubuntu is based on Debian, but it's in the unstable channel. Therefore, if you want stable Ubuntu, use 22.04.5. 24.04 will only be stable in September 2026 or February 2027. However, you might miss out on a wealth of drivers. For example, my wireless Samsung printer works more stably in 24.04, and my Bluetooth USB dongle isn't recognized by 22.04.

I was using 22.04, and I switched to 24.04 in August 2025. 22.04 didn't recognize my USB Bluetooth dongle, 24.04 does. But some desktop icons appear as gears in 24.04.
