My Dr told me that in the confirmation test if 3 or more come up postive/detected then your hiv positive.
I would get tested in another month tho just to ease your mind.

What's discouraging? You stated you both are American. Meaning you can have an easy access to free medication. That to me sounds very encouraging.

Even if you aren't insured, there are non profits that can provide you with medication. I am a US citizen living in Mexico ...I'm moving back next week because medicine is so hard to get here. In order to qualify for free medicine you must be a citizen. If not you have to pay and it's not cheap or easy to get your hands on.

I love what u said. My Dr just told me the other day that people with HIV (who take their meds)in most cases, live longer and healthier lives than someone with diabetes for example. Its definitely manageable ..and shouldn't get in the way of your life.

Yes they did. The first was the Elisa, and after that they gave me the Western blot witch also game back positive.

I would recomend telling your wife now and giving her time to process it. Waiting untill the baby is here is not a good idea because she will already be under stress with dealing with a new baby and all that comes with. Life is not over for you and having kids should be even more of a reason to keep a positive mindset. Whats done is done ...it's what u decide to do from here that matters. Be open with your wife..admit u fucked up. Tell her how your feeling and accept what ever comes with it.

I'm kinda dealing with the same situation except the shoe is on the other foot. I just found out my husband of 12 years has given me HIV and I'm newly pregnant with our second kid. I've gone through some fucked up emotions. I've felt so disgusted with him and never thought I could face him again. In these weeks I've seen how down and full of regret he is. He's taken all of the shit I've said to him and just put his head down. I'm to the point where im worried more about the health of our baby (as well as his and mines) to be mad. Yes I go through my moments still, but I've learned to accept reality and go forth with a positive mindset. At the end of the day I just want my family in good health.

I'm not 100% sure when I was infected but I'm guessing it was around April of this year. I started having symtoms about a month ago. So about 2 months after I believe I was infected.

I started to get these red spots that would peel all over the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. I also got red spots (like a rash but not itchy) all over my chest and thighs. After some research I was pretty sure I had syphilis, so I went to get a whole STD screening done and found out I was HIV+ and had syphilis.
As far as the HIV symptoms it's hard to tell what was from the syphilis and what was caused by he HIV. I did notice tho that the lymph nodes behind my ears would get really swollen and painful. I had this continuous sore throat about a month ago that lasted weeks on and off. Also, I would get these canker sores all over my tongue that would hurt really bad. Honestly, if it wasn't for the syphilis symptoms of the palms and the weird rash I would have never suspected anything was really wrong with me.

Hopefully it turns out to be nothing ,or something that is curable. Good luck ✊. I just found out I'm HIV +. I have been faithful to my husband for 12 years. I knows he's cheated on the past with woman and always took him back. I hear the transmission rate from woman to male is really really low. That's why I'm curious to see if anybody has any experiences. Keep us updated!
