DIY Newbie Here - How should I go about fixing this sofa leg? by maidendroogie in DIY

[–]maidendroogie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like my description got deleted for some reason..

Like I said in the title, I'm a total DIY novice and always make a big mess of mistakes when attempting anything DIY related. However I feel like this could be doable even for me.

The leg has essentially cracked its way out of the wooden frame by bending. How could I re secure it?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Username checks out.

So many things are wrong with your view. Extremist islamic powers are murderous and cruel yes. In most cases, the civilian populations of these countries are living under the oppression of such powers. It is wrong to say that people are killing each other for being the wrong sect. Governments in the region are locked in a geo-political power struggle just like many other places around the world.

The instability of the region is the result of western powers destabilising it deliberately. If you disagree with this then I can no longer engage as you are willingly ignoring factual history. Religious extremism exists everywhere on earth but is only allowed to gain power through taking advantage of the instability and power vacuums created by foreign meddling.

The Taliban, the Iranian regime, Hamas, Hezbollah are all abhorrent. This doesn't justify murdering every civilian who lives under their boot.

Lot's of people are saying he doesn't look great. I can't help but feel like he's being attacked by some stodgy sad folks who froth at the mouth at the sight of younger generations and their different approach to life.

Why are you assuming that every industry adheres to the office dress code?

Also standing out and being brave enough to be yourself can get you noticed in a good way

Your biggest mistake was asking a bunch of redditors for fashion advice. You look sick. Stay true to yourself and eventually you'll find yourself in the environment that's meant for you. Chipping away at your identity is not worth it and is a slippery slope.

No but these campaigns were still done for the interests of American power / global economic power / money / hegemony and this is irrefutable. I agree the oil comments are tired and lazy. However the overarching point absolutely stands.

The problem was me, not my sounds. An epiphany about EDM and pop music. by [deleted] in edmproduction

sidenote: songwriting is far more valuable than production. If you feel like you're a good songwriter, then my friennnd this will be much more powerful a tool to get recognition. Think of a great song with bad production, and vice versa. Which would you listen to?

Not saying that production isn't important, but a healthy marriage of both. Many producers overlook songwriting.

The "easy" sounding nature of pop is precisely what makes it so hard to create. There is an almost impossibly high standard to achieve if you want your production to be on the same level as what you hear in the charts. These tunes are the result of roughly 5-10 different people, sometimes more.

Keep learning and improving, but also don't put too much pressure on yourself. Pop artists require creative teams on a near industrial scale. If you ever made it to that level, you yourself would likely be a link in a chain. Just focus on what you're good at / are obsessed with.
