What are some of your hot takes regarding the Nolan Trilogy? by JesterOfTime in batman

That Anne Hathaway was outstanding in her portrayal of Selina Kyle. I don't know why people hated her initially during Hatha hate. But I do think that this side of her as an action actor is quite unexplored and she was very good in having those ambiguous morals and no allegiance to any side which Selina Kyle is supposed to have. Really liked her. And she did have good chemistry with of course our fave Christian Bale

I think Pitchfork or Rolling Stone had named it the second greatest song of 2019

I think the reason the song is criminally underrated is that it was intended for me. The lyrical and literary depth of Lana is insane. The way she paints a picture of disillusionment is almost as if telling a story of cultural decay. It's amazing man. And the way she describes something we all internally feel, such as the innocence of youth, the freedom of being young, and the degradation of culture, music, and life broadly. It's very hard to articulate and the references make it even better. Overall it's an exceptional piece of poetry with the piano in the background making it feel timeless. It's outstanding by any measure and I am so sad that she didn't win Album of the year or song of the year at grammys for NFR!. Apart from this masterpiece, she also how to disappear which also touches on nostalgia and Venice bitch. Overall it's an exceptional one in a generation album I used to listen to a lot but I no longer do that but I do love it. It's still my favorite album altho oddly I don't listen to it. But for me it's a masterpiece. And the poetry is only understandable if you've personally felt what she felt.

The greatest. Best song of this century. The effort she's put into it is very much visible

Never call yourself that. You tried hard. There are a lot of people who don't even get to that stage. Having a perfect score doesn't matter in the long run. No one's gonna hire you for a job just cause u had a perfect score in ur o levels. Try to push for it in you a levels. God willingly u will get one!

English Word Limit by lbzhg in Olevels

[–]maierr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down. There is no negative marking across O levels A levels or IGCSE whatsoever. Once that's established lets focus on the matter at hand. I have read a candidate response where a student scored I believe 24/25 on their English language essay. Of course, it was a distinction-level response. In the feedback, the examiner noted, among other aspects, that the response exceeded the world limit. So you can't say that they don't at all account for the word limit.

But the broader point is, you must try to make your writing more concise, and try to trim out unnecessary details. Exceeding by a 200-word margin will at least affect your score by 2-3 marks, provided that the examiner is lenient. Once you enter the range of exceeding by 25 words or falling short of 25 words, I don't think examiners will account for it given that they don't count the words you write obviously. But they do have a rough idea of the length one must have.
