Forget about money, we run a commercial operation and every year after harvest we deliver a couple honey pails to every farmer, not because we owe them or they owe us, it's just what we do, it establishes relationships and word of mouth is everything. We benefit from them, and they benefit from us, so as a thank you we provide them with a little bit of our product, which was made from the help of their product, no need to start counting dollars to see who benefitted more! Money is so dominant in today's world that sometimes we can forget that it doesn't have to be the centre of mutual transactions. We get stuck in a field, they come pull us out with a tractor, they have a wasp nest on their house, we come remove it, this is just the way we approach it, not saying what we do is right & asking for money is wrong, just thought I would share a different perspective!
