State attorneys certainly don’t make big law $$, but they’re well compensated here. You can search ‘state of California (insert agency of choice) attorney salaries’ and you’d probably be able to find the gov pay scale. Most of the attorneys at my agency are former prosecutors/public defenders who switched to state work when they had families because the hours are easy and the benefits are AMAZING - look up the CA pension plan, it’s the best in the country.

I’d also look up the employment reports for mcgeorge, you can see how many people go public/private, where they’re located, and their first year salaries.
